The small box was wrapped in the New York Times from three weeks prior. Jim opened it slowly, exposing Hugh Grant’s face first, then Renée Zellweger’s. The attached note was short but betrayed so much.

“I don’t want to remember anything.”

He nodded and quickly hid it in a desk drawer. Kelly might want it.
