He doesn’t breathe until he hits Stamford. When he does, he finds his chest hollow. He has left part of himself - his heart.
The phantom ache keeps him up at night.
Somehow, he learns to live without it.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, apart from my collection of The Office inspired t-shirts and a gift voucher from winning a The Office themed trivia night (which may just be the highlight of my life to date). Any lines of recognisable dialogue are adapted from the show. The title is from a song by Butterfly Boucher which I 10/10 recommend for any big life change, i.e. moving to another city because the girl you loved crushed your heart.
