Love the switching from the dialog to the flashbacks -- sweet, sweet story!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm sooo hoping we get a scene in the future where they're talking like nothing is goin' on, but one of them fixes the other's clothes, or something like that, and we're all "Whoooo!!! They're totally DOING IT!!!"
This whole story is freaking adorable! And I love the idea that Pam was ignoring Jim so she could try to get her relationship with Roy back on track. And it keeps with the very sweet & nostalgic mood of the story (summer in DE, old-fashioned 5 & Dime, melting ice cream), that the final scene is left to our imaginations. I'm so glad I saw the rec for this on the FF home page!
OMG, Missionary! That killed me! (And now I have to explain what is so dang funny to my husband, thanks!!)
For Your Consideration! Yes!! And Amy apparently doesn't realize who she is dealing with!!
YAY! I was hoping for a happy ending like this! Of course he couldn't not be friends with Pam. The scene in Central Park was just all kinds of awesome. Loved this whole story.
Sorry I forgot to review when I first read this. That roof definitely needs to make another appearance on the show. It's the 'anti-parking lot'. And yes, this is smokin' hot!!!
Pam has had enough. She traps Jim in the supply closet with her.
Yes! Love the supply closet! This is great!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
I know I read this once before ~ can't believe I forgot to post a review. ANYHOW... I defy anyone to read this and then tell me that Pam & Jim are not MFEO.
Maybe I am a little overly sentimental because I am 7 months pregnant right now and my first was delivered via an emergency c-section (everything turned out fine, but it was sheer terror for a little while), but this is so unbelieveably sweet. Everything that is important in life is wrapped up in this story. And this last chapter literally brought tears to my eyes. Just. Wow.
Awww. Thanks lisahoo!!! It's always a treat for me when someone leaves a review for a story I wrote months ago.
I'm a sentimental mess on a regular basis. I'm truly frightened to find out what I'll be like when I have kids.
Thanks again for the review. I'm so glad you liked it!
Pam learns a new skill from Jim.
OMG, more hot tie fic.... who doesn't love the basketweave tie? This is priceless :o)
Author's Response: Glad you liked it, lisahoo! Don't ya wanna just tug on it?
Oh. My. God. That freaking rocks my boat, so to speak! And of course, Pam is the number one hussy.
I just discovered this story and it just floored me. I love the backstory behind the various episodes and Jim's voice in this. Just rips my heart out. So glad you are going to keep writing more of it.
This just ripped my heart out: he’s her best friend and if she can’t have him as more, than she’ll take him like this -- that just so summed up the show for me -- except that I think that her crying, letting the lid off of her emotions, is the genie that can't be put back in the bottle. And it might get messy, but the only way out is through.
And how the HECK did I miss this story before tonight? -- clearly I have a lot of reading to do!
Pam's been faking it. Roy asks Jim how to fix it.
Oh, Holy Mother of God -- you took the most awkward conversation ever and gave it a happy ending? You are an evil genius! And Pam making noise. Thud, part III.
Author's Response: I need an evil genius signature move. Not that it would matter, you guys can't see me doing it. And also: I'm not a genius :) Thanks, lisahoo!
I think you owe Jim Halpert dinner. Good God. And fancy underwear -- for Jim, even though he couldn't possibly know. It may be January, but I think I need to turn up the AC.
Author's Response: Hee. Pam's naughty. Glad you're enjoying it ;)
Holy hell, how did I manage not to leave a review for this? And there are more chapters? *head explodes*
Yes, this is the most awkward conversation ever. And Jim and Roy talking about sex? I may need CPR. Gah.
Oh, if only, TV Buffy!!!! This is really inventive -- sorry I missed it for so long!
How did I forget to review this the first time I read it? This has everything, DM!Jim, Daddy!Jim, MussedHair!Jim, Jam Wedding. A smorgabord of Jim. Mmmmm.
BTW -- 'Lily' is the name we had already picked out for HooBaby#2, so squee for that, too!
Moxie -- really like how you are writing Pam as wanting their first time to be just perfect ~~ I think that is very Pam-like ~~ and while I enjoy some good Jam smut, I am finding this balancing act she is doing between flat-out lusting after Jim (and frankly, who doesn't?) and truly loving Jim so much that she wants the physical part of their relationship to be as sweet and tender as the emotional part to be very true-to-life and something I can really identify with.
I also love how Jim doesn't let her put down her artistic talent. I thought "Boys and Girls" was a major moment in their relationship -- it became clear Jim loved Pam in such a way that he only wanted the best for her, more than just a crush or surface level attraction. Really loved how you bring this element of Jim back to the surface. Very sweet.
5 things I loved about this chapter:
"Take me to Stamford so we can f***"
"I am a tall gangly white boy"
the chocolate pudding reference,
dancing, not swaying to Sing,
the belt loops
Now get those two to Stamford before somebody has a meltdown!!!
clothing forbidden zone
*thud*
Moxie -- you know how to start the week off right :o) Pam and Jim in Stamford.
Moxie, you (almost) make me wish that the Stamford branch hadn't closed. And DiveMaster!Jim is excellent. Hee! I like your AU much better, can I live there, please?
Author's Response: Sure thing, lisahoo - I plan on moving there too if those two kids don't get together soon!!! Thanks for reading!
Moxie -- I am impressed that you keep finding new ground for P&J to cover -- I mean besides new places to have sex (hee!). The discussion about the long-distance relationship, missing each other before the weekend is over (been there, done that!) was great. And the whole competition issue between them? Awe. Some. Plus I am really LOVING how they are still discovering new things about the other, while reveling in their familiarity.
(And I admit, I am a total girl & loved the conversation about the 'old fashioned way' YAY!) And 'forbidden toppings' cracked me up!!
I like your universe better than GD's. Can I live there? And I guy who will match his tie to your outfit? A total catch. Jim Halpert is the ultimate fashion accessory. Every girl should have one.
Author's Response: I agree - all this Jam goodness and it's still only October there! Can you imagine what Christmas could have been like?? Here's hoping this year is a much better holiday season for them.
Sweet and delicious, but without the risk of brain freeze!
Love the sweet talk between Jim & Pam here. Guh. And I think thigh-highs would pretty much break his brain.
Please tell me you aren't going to wait another month between chapters! And I'm glad Pam decided to grow up and turn around to go back to Jim's apt instead of playing games. That never works. I've been in her shoes, when you're in love with someone who lives over 2 hours away, Sundays can be reallllly depressing. And bring out all kinds of wacky behavior.
