Author of the Month March 2020

I've been writing fanfiction for awhile now. Just recently discovered The Office and figured I'd try my hand at that as well.

At first I thought of having all my stories in the same universe, but then I had some AU ideas. So any stories that occur within a common universe will be in a given series.

Really good look into the mind of Karen here. You can tell she's trying to make it work, but there hoving around is Jim's past and of course Pam. Does kind of make me feel bad for her. In reality really the only thing wrong with Karen is she's not Pam. Great way to bring that out.

Leaving a review because this story absolutely deserves its 100th review. I know the author very likely doesn't read these anymore, but it's just wonderful to see Jim and Pam reconnect like this.

Just a ton of great fun all around.

This is just so perfect. I love that he shows her that it was this seemingly small thing that brought him back to her. Jim may go for the big gesture, but with Pam a lot of time it's smaller, but with all the feeling and meaning. Beautiful way to bring that about.

This was super cute. There's a bunch of shots of Pam in the Golden Hour of the afternoon where she looks really pretty. I get the same kind of vibe with this one but flip it to the morning. I think it's better that it's the morning as it's clearly in the earlier stages of their relationship. There's a faint hope there Jim is feeling. It's fragile and small, but it's there. Kind of like the moment they steal like this. Really nicely done.

I don't know if you still read reviews on this or not. I just found this story after having read through "My True Love..." several times over. It's such a wonderful story. The creative ways you show their love for each other and the walk through the year you've created are vivid and easy to see. I hope you read this and remember what you had planned for the rest of the tale because it deserves to be finished.

Summary: AU...Pam is new to Scranton, but she connects with an old friend.

I'm not a writer at all, but I am loving fan fic, and totally obsessed with JAM. I have read so many stories from this site, and the ideas have just been flowing.

So this has been quite the ride. Teenage Jim and Pam are great to see. They're very sweet and cute together. After so much fluff, good fluff, the big fight and break up between them was almost a welcome break. Not that I'm happy to see Jim and Pam break up mind you, it's just that adding that in added a lot more realism to this story. And now it looks like things are on the mend.

The thing about the whole fight and it's aftermath was that I felt it was in character to the Jim and Pam from the show. To scared to actually talk about what was really bothering them so they just ignored each other. That is until something broke. Literally Pam's hand this time around.

Welcome back to writing. Not sure what it was like around here 10 years ago. However I assure you the merry band of miscreants in this corner of the interwebs are always glad to see new or returning writers.

Author's Response: I always felt that had Pam met Jim in high school, they would have fallen in love and stayed that way, similar to she and Roy from the show. This has been lots of fun to write most of time. With the angst and other more adult things were weird to write at the time but I had a lot of help with a few chapters from Elly and ItalianFood, I don't know if they're still around or not. Those good old days were great fun, Season 4 had just started and I discovered fic, googling Jim and Pam stuff. I stayed up devouring stories for ages, then I felt inspired to start this after too many similar stories went unfinished... the irony in my 10 year break. :p it's not as easy as it looks! Thank you for reading :).

Hooray for an update! And on my birthday too! Double hooray! Anyway this was nice. After all the grief they've gone through it's nice for Jim and Pam to be acting like this again. Yes it's a new beginning, but with all the history they have it's more than that. Nice way to fit in the dorky Beesly dance moves line there too. I'm really hoping they'll continue to re-build their friendship and in so doing get back to the great JAM couple we know they are.

Awww, Look at Pam being all concerned for Jim's pants. She's right, they need company. Delightfully cute the way they are here. Even with so few words it's easy to see them smirking and giggling with each other. Just lovely.

It's criminal that this has been around so long without a review. Don't know if you still come back to check or not. Regardless it's short, sweet, and lovely. I love Pam's spunk. Good impulse Pam. Kinda wish we'd seen more of that earlier in the show.

Welcome back!! I had to go back and re-read the last chapter to get my bearings on this one again. That was in no way shape or form a chore of any kind by the way.

I really like how they take some time here to start figuring things out. Clearly they're physically right for each other. But it would only make sense that they might not be at the same point emotionally. It's going to take some time to figure that out. Really glad that they find the time to be honest with each other here and lay it all out.

The rewards of doing so were well worth it. Hope to see this continue soon.

Yes Pam and Roy had their good moments together. A lady like Pam wouldn't have said yes to a proposal if they hadn't. However the foreshadowing is strong here with Roy already putting off the wedding.

This one was super cute. Always a good time seeing versions of the mini-golf incident where Jim gets the Teapot gift. Some of the first more than friend feelings with Jim there on Pam's part too.

Reviewer: warrior4 Signed

Yet another delay on the wedding and yet another way Jim is there for Pam. Loved that he lets her have some space and then when he does come to find her, he also lightens the mood. Feels like Pam's really starting to hide behind a big old wall of denial about what her relationship to Jim means to her. Still really well written to get a lot of those emotions out.

Reviewer: warrior4 Signed

More and more problems with Pam and Roy as the wedding gets pushed back. Seems like Roy just really doesn't get her. Yeah he does try there at the end, but at the same time he doesn't get her like Jim does.

Also telling that more and more Pam is reaching out to Jim for emotional support rather than Roy. Her heart has been shifting from one man to the other for awhile now.

Reviewer: warrior4 Signed

Yeah lots of confusing feelings for her here. I get the feeling she still really trying to put in the effort she should with Roy. Especially with a wedding date now set. However she's also very attunded to Jim and so she picks up the fact that he's slipping away from her. Which I think scares her even more. The fact that despite everything she still has Jim in her head is very telling of her true feelings for him.

Reviewer: warrior4 Signed

One more time of Pam fooling herself. I mean I get the fact she's lonely and hurting and Roy is there, willing, and familiar. However even now I think she knows this second chance with him won't really amount to anything. She knows where her heart should belong, but the timing's just not right.

Onto better days.

Jim taking care of pregnant Pam is always sweet. As is the reminders of their history. It was a long road to be sure, but they grew through it and came out better for each other on the other side. Lovely.

Yeah this fits with S9. They're trying but there's a big thing between them again. At this point it's also hard for them to really verbalize that too. So they fall to old habits, ignore the real feelings, cling to the wisps of good things, and distact each other. Granted we know it'll all be fine, but the getting there was tough. This one speaks to that really well.

Great way to end this tale. I liked how you had them talking about the move to Austin early and then that they were actually acting in the finale. Great way to set that up for a fun moment. The waitress gushing over them during the dinner was a lot of fun to envision. Lots of fun callbacks throughout the end here. Of course all the steaminess was lots of fun as well. Glad you got this one finished up.

Ahhh, that's better. They finally have the timing right and it's wonderful. The early days of their true relationship and it's a joy to read. The simple but fun gesture with the roses, a favorite resturant, and of course all the after dinner activites. Through it all, the fun banter that is just so JAM. Just a ton of fun to read this one and see them like this.

I love when they go back and rewrite their history. Correct and clarify the mistakes they made. This one was delightful. The small and big moments that led them to where they are. They're also honest with each other and it's making their relationship stronger for it. Loved it.

This one is just delightful. Even though they are trying for a second baby, the fact they're also just going for it with each other like this is also wonderful. They're still adventurous and looking to keep things exciting with each other. Also they've got stamina too. Well done on them.

This one felt very real. The idea that Pam has some issues with her post-partum body rings true. However once more Jim is there to let her know how much she means to him. And of course Great Dad Jim is also there to help her take care of Phil too. Great work.

Summary:

Like many high school sweethearts, Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly were sure nothing could ever break them up. And, like many high school sweethearts, life after graduation proved too much for their relationship to bear and they ended up going their separate ways. When their paths cross again 10 years later, old feelings are stirred up, but will Pam and Jim have a second chance at first love?

I'll be honest I've been avoiding this one. The whole Jim and Pam are together, then break up, and it's not done so I don't know if they'll get back together is kind of hard to wrap a mind around at times.

Still it's a very compelling story. Lots of fun moments from the show worked in so that's a ton of fun. I do like that even after all this time, they still both have it bad for each other. I get the feeling that Pam's ready to admit that right now more than Jim. However if Mark's insights are anything to go by, Karen all of a sudden has some very stiff competition.

Please don't leave this on in limbo to long.

Wow. I had to go back an re-read that end part several times to make sure I'd read it correctly. Definitely a shock to be sure, one I did not see coming at all. It was very well written as it did in fact trigger quite a few feelings. I think this is the first fic I've read on this site that deals with an issue like this. However, life isn't always fair. There are ups and downs that we're never ready to face and a chapter like this exposes that. Very well written for such hard subject matter.

Author's Response: Hey there! Thank you for this thoughtful review. I was aware that this would shock some readers, and it was a risk, but I didn't want to spoil this with too many specific warnings. I thought about being more specific, but I felt the impact of what happened should resonate and shake readers in order to appreciate not just the rest of the whole fic but what comes next. I appreciate that you rode with this and took the time to leave a thoughtful review like this. Thank you!
