Ugh I hate angst but this is SO well written, as usual! The way they both misinterpreted what the other meant when they said it wasn't working was so believable. And Pam trying to convince herself she'd be happy working in Philly because she sees how happy it makes Jim is heartbreaking but also so accurate to who Pam is as a person. It's also a good explanation as to why Pam agreed to it in canon despite her own unhappiness where that might have been confusing to the viewers. The parallels between Jim and Roy and the inner conflict that it causes her was interesting too.

But yeah - I was interested in that in canon, ie how she went from definitely seeing Philly as Jim's part time job, to applying for a job there even though she didn't want to - and then misinterpreting felt pretty standard for them, lol. You write these characters so well!
I loved the honest conversation between the two of them at the end there. I'm so happy Pam disclosed the seduction plan and I'm thrilled Jim had an opportunity to explain himself finally. Baby steps, but this seems like the start of them finding their way back to each other.
Early on in this fic, Pam was giving me Peggy Season 1 of Mad Men vibes, but it's nice to see her evolving and gaining some confidence and clarity, just like in canon.
I can't wait for the next update!!
