Jim could not believe they were finally here.

He had asked her. She had said, "Yes!"

And now, she was staring up at him, luminous, obviously awaiting the first of a thousand kisses.

Still he paused, unsure, awaiting permission.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

And so he did.
