Written in response to the Evening Coming (aka the Scarf) challenge. Not usually one for prompts, but this one got me thinking.
Pam finally gets pushed over the edge when it comes to Jim and his new girlfriend. Post-Ben Franklin. It all starts at Phyllis' Wedding. Jim and Pam's lives completely change after they've both moved on....to New York City, that is.
Jim's with Karen. Pam's with Roy. Misery all around until Pam fights to find her passion again. In her art and in her love life.
One part for each season. Pam's p.o.v. Nothing could be more innocent than a freckle, right?S3, set between Traveling Salesman and The Return.Before, during, after (peas, waffles.) Post-Cocktails...but no fighting.No matter how much this couple is perfect for each other, they are bound to have flaws. Jim and Pam head to marriage counseling, and learn to deal with their issues in a semi adult manner.
“I get it now, she’s everything I’m not.” She says as a few tears slip out from beneath her lashes. His subconscious realizes at this moment that she’s unconsciously mimicking a line from the Royal Tenenbaums, one of their joint favorite films. When he replays this conversation in his mind later, this will break his heart.
He was well aware of the fact that what he was contemplating (no, planning) could result in the loss of his job; after all, the very definition of a documentary stipulated that the cameramen not alter the natural course of events or become actively involved with the subjects in any way.
Even more than that, though, he understood that to do this would be to tread a dangerous line; it was rather like playing god in some ways.
What if Jim could see what we've seen?
