This feels like a really good picture of the sheer amount of WORK Jim is doing at this juncture just to keep everything together. Everything is a struggle with and/or against his feelings for Pam, and it's a genuinely constant distraction.
Yeah, definitely not the listener Karen seems to think he is. Whoops.
Love that you worked some of your own professional experience in here! Nice to bring your worlds together. And I love how hilariously nonplussed they are in the face of Jim's schtick.
Author's Response:
Yeah Jim's deep in the depths of "what am I doing with my life" at the start of this chapter. So on the outside he looks calm, inwardly he's pretty far from that.
It was fun to bring in the medics too. I've brought EMS in a couple times in my stories, it's always kind of fun. And yeah, after a while you've seen it all and it while a odd from time to time one just rolls with the craziness of the job.

Ha! Great ending for a very nice chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks. The ending was kind of a whim so I'm glad it came across well.

“What’s the last thing you remember before you passed out?”
Jim looked back at Pam. It looked like fear was starting to creep back into her eyes. No, not again. Not ever again. “A beautiful woman told me she loved me for the first time.” Just, just classic. Another great story. Thank you
Author's Response:
Thanks. It's been a lot of fun to write this story. I'm very glad you're enjoying it so much.

Why does the moment have to be interrupted by Roy??!!!
Loving this story, hope you post the next chapter soon. And I hope poor Jim doesn't get his face smashed in. He just recovered from fainting !
Author's Response: Because he's Roy and while he's still around Dunder-Mifflin that's kind of what he does. Glad you're enjoying reading this one as much as I am writing it. Thanks for the review. Hope to hear more from you going forward.

I should have known you'd make sure they called the EMTs. Although if Jim was really out long enough for them to actually be called and arrive, probably justified.
I like where you're taking this...Roy returning is gold (I was wondering if it'd be Karen ala the fic on this site where Pam and Jim are doing inventory and Karen comes by with a pizza and catches them making out). Jim's gallant words about what he remembers are a treat. Looking forward to where this goes (and how you do eventually deal with the Karen complication). Great work.
Author's Response:
I've read several fics here and other places where EMS is called in. Most of the time the author gets EMS wrong, understandably so since most authors aren't EMT's or paramedics. So when I get a chance to add in EMS, it's my goal to make sure to let people know what it's really like. And yes I've responded to calls similar to this where someone just fainted, we showed up, checked them out, and they refused transport to the ED.
As far as Karen goes? I've got something special in mind.

Oh boy. This is really the gift that keeps on giving: the most fic-worthy blooper of all time, adorable JAM times and angry Roy (I love me some angry Roy drama). I can’t wait to see what the next installment will bring!
Author's Response: Thank you. I've got a bunch of fun ideas brewing for this story. Hopefully you'll find them just as engaging.
