Lovely story. You are a wonderful author, but I can't read your Ryan/Pam stuff b/c it almost literally makes me sick inside. I mean, a truly visceral reaction of... dread? Strange, I know. I think that's a tribute to your skill (and my own neuroses perhaps). I'm really glad I found something where I could actually read the whole thing and tell you how much I admire your writing. :) If you feel like dropping that whole Ryan/Pam craziness and cranking out a 30-chapter JAM-tastic Angst-then-Fluff Epic... well, I won't try to stop you! ;)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the compliment! Haha, I don't know that I'll be writing any Jam epics any time soon, they are what I began writing, but I got bored with it... but you never know! :)

I smiled the whole way through his fic. Say Anything holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first movie my husband (then boyfriend) and I watched together, and In Your Eyes is our song to this day. *sigh*
Adding to favorites, for sure. This made my day.

Cute! I literally just saw Say Anything for the first time the other day, because I was so ashamed every time somebody looked at me like I was a freak of nature when I said I'd never seen it, and I adored it so finding a fic based on it the same week was just fate!
Fancy New Beesly making such a gesture in the office was seriously ballsy :-D

Haha, that last line made me laugh...ironically enough. Tell it like it is.
Good stuff...

Well, this was just lovely. I love Pam humiliating herself in front of everyone because that's exactly the kind of humor that would stand up in this show, and it's something that clearly shows how much Jim means to her. This story is paced really well and the lyrics you've included are lovely -- they don't take away from the writing at all (or, alternately, they add to them, really :)). My favorite lines were:
"Pam, do you ever think about--"
"I should get going."
She had left quickly.
Because oh man, those are killer. Really lovely job with this -- thank you so much for your review on my story and for sharing this with us. :)

You are great. I love Say Anything and I love the parallels that you used between the movie and the show. Just perfectly beautiful.

Loved it! I especially loved the inclusion of different lines from the movie. Now I need to dig up a copy of Say Anything... and rewatch it.

I love the "Ice Man. Power Jim. His assault on the world begins now." I never made that connection before, but Jim's situation in S3 really does make sense with this Say Anything quote. Pam rejected him and broke his heart and now he's at the point in his life where he's standing in the rain in a payphone, haha. Brilliant.

Oh my goodness. Combining my favorite movie with my favorite couple is just 100% perfect, in my book. This was just so sweet and so sincere and just so awesome. I loved it!

In case you didn't know, the "LLoyd" part of my screen name is for Lloyd Dobler. I love him. I love JAM. I love this story. I love you for writing this story.

Oh, what a great freaking movie! And the stereo scene -- so painful, I can't believe Michael isn't behind it! Maybe she should move to Connecticut. Priceless!
Another great line from that movie:
"If you know so much about women, what are you doing hanging out at the Gas & Sip?"
"Personal Choice!"
Happy to read the fluff instead of the angst -- I am getting a little antsy waiting for Karen to get the boot...
