this was the saddest Pam past story I've read here, I'm always saddened whenever someone is held back by a significant other, what a waste!!!

Author's Response: Wow, the saddest? I absolutely agree. It's horrible when a boyfriend/girlfriend holds someone back. I think that's the reason I always view Pam as such a tragic character.

Oh, my God. Poor Michael! The whole paragraph where he's thinking about all the wonderful things that will happen in the future if only he goes to magic camp is just about the saddest thing ever. *hugs Michael*

Author's Response: I know. His childhood must have been hell, I think. Thank you so much!

poor michael. and i so lauged when i read michael part one because, yeah, someone like him, he has a lot to be explained :P

Author's Response: Tell me about it! There is no way, to me, to sum up his "formative years" in one short story. What a complex character!

These are great so far, the Toby and Michael ones especially. Anxious to read more.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'll try to keep putting them up pretty consistently. (Sometimes college or my daughter gets priority, though).

Poor Toby. I like him. He is mysecond favorite character (besidesJim... sorry Toby).

Author's Response: Oh, I think Toby would understand. Jim is pretty dreamy...

Oh, that was *so* sad! I've always kind of imagined that Pam's relationship with Roy would have caused her relationships with her friends to deteriorate over the years and thought about how sad that is for Pam, but I've never really considered it from the perspective of those lost friends, so this was a perfect and enlightening format! And imagine how different her life would be if she'd gone to homecoming with artsy, broody Joey Thompson...

*sigh*roy has always been wrong and disproving of pam. a really cool way to present it with the notes from a friend.

Author's Response: Yeah, I really made Roy out to be a jerk.  Hopefully, I can write him with some sympathy when it's his turn.

Wow.  This is so good.  This is a great representation of how Roy may have held Pam back for YEARS.

Author's Response: Thanks!

I'm loving these little character studies, I especially look forward to some exposition on the minor characters!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, I definitely am more interested in the minor characters, too!

This is a great start! Angela's was totally heartbreaking and a great explanation for why she might have turned out the way she is. Oscar's was just cool. Can't wait to see your take on the others!

Author's Response: Thank you, Semby!

Oh, these chapters are incredible so far.  I felt so sad for Angela, the way she was ostracized for not wanting to hang out with the cool kids, and for believing that someone liked her when it was just a bet.  And the Oscar just killed me and his story was so sadly sweet and realistic and this whole thing is so, so well written.  Excellent job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Oh, man, how very sweet for both of them.  LOVE Oscar having his boycrush and doing boy high school things, and poor, human Angela, finding math comforting.  Very nice.

Author's Response: Thank you!

Niiice.  Okay, I have a dirty mind and was expecting more than a kiss on the cheek.  But this is good, too!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, I thought about it, but I wanted to keep it a little more poignant, rather than smutty. Smutty will be in chapters to come!
