One of the things I love about this fic (among many) is that you give Jim a much more reasonable reason for not calling Pam (at least immediately) than the show timeline gives Pam for not telling Jim.

It's too bad the flight wasn't cheaper. I was really hoping for a "Why, look! Here's Jim in Italy" kind of thing. Darn it.
Please don't tell me she'll meet Karen. No Karen. No Karen... Freedom Fries Guy? Jackson from another fanfic? Um...I'm out of ideas.
The sad part about finally finding this fic, is that I didn't find it when you completed it, so now I have to wait for more. Waiting isn't fun! ;)

I've been wanting to read this for a while and I just read all seven chapters. It's wonderful ladama! Not only is the story believable and written totally in character with Jim and Pam, it flows beautifully and has great visuals too! I look forward to the next chapter. I really hope Jim gets on that plane!!

Aw, I love that he was so wanting to just go to Italy and find her, though it is totally realistic that he would decide against it for that price. And your Pam "makes friends with someone you'll probably recognize" teaser has me a little worried! My mind is jumping to Roy or Karen.

Yay, once again, this was the reaction I was hoping for. Something like that would be too grand for Jim and Pam anyway ;)
I will say the "new" character won't have the same purpose as they do on the show.

Just knowing that Jim was thinking of booking that flight is so freaking romantic I can hardly stand it! My heart jumped up into my throat!
And I am very sad that Casey now has a broken home. I hope Jim finds him a new dog-mommy....
Author's Response: Yay, I was worried people would find the non-booking of the flight anti-climactic, but this was the reaction I was hoping for. Don't worry, Casey will be okay, he's just going through a transition like everyone else in the story.
