Ok, I am loving this story so much right now!  I think that many stories try to make Pam finally break and tell the truth, but most of the time it just doesn't seem very much like her.  I can definitly believe her saying this and under the circumstances finally being open about everything. Great work!!

So good.  The last paragraph especially is so amazing.  My favorite: "and now it doesn’t want him, the ocean doesn’t want him today, a decision has been made".  Wowee, can you ever write.

Author's Response: thanks very much for your reviews, they've meant so much.  early morning tomorrow, so i think that's the last chapter for today (3 in one day is a record in my book).  much respect.

I'm not sure what Mark is saying exactly, is he "talking" to Jim?  On what did they feel the same?

Other than that, this is really fascinating to me!  I can really feel the fear and anxiety of all the people in the waiting room.

Pam has cried a lot over Jim. That was such a sweet scene. And I have never heard this cliche, so, it was like, hum, very wise... that the only man worth a woman’s tears is the man who won’t cause them....
JIM!!!

“It’s only when you’ve lost everything, that you’re free to do anything.” such a great way to start the fic. Yes, I am this far into it, and I can already tell I will enjoy it.
Whats odd, is that when Jim was talking about seeing Pam after the merger, and instantly knowing he screwed up... in an odd way, its like, so reminded me randomly... every day I think eh, I am not that crazy about the Office/JK, but then, there will be something random, and I am just like, "i'm screwed, this is taking over my brain". so, not that it is that related, but it does have a similar theme.

Wow, this is good.  I like dark stories and this one in particular has grabbed me.  I'm looking forward to more!

Wow.  So good.  But, just to clarify, this is rock-bottom, right?  Right?  Hmm, I guess all will be revealed in good time!

I cannot wait to see where you take this.  I love angst (especially if it still ends happily), but this is fascinating and addictive.  Great story line!

Holy crap!  How much farther can Jim go?

I'm confused about the beginning: Is he almost dying at the beginning and he sees Pam who already died and so he wishes he said DNR?  Is he in the hospital and she's visiting, which makes him want to die?  Is he dreaming?  What's going on there?

I really like your writing; it really flows beautifully.  I'm interested to see where you take this.
