yay!! yay!!  Though I do think you should have Kelly's reaction to the ring.  She'd be screaming about it all day, don't you think?  And Ryan could come up to Jim and say "Thanks for NOTHING, Jerk."  ;-D

But look at me - I'm hijacking your story!!  My bad.  ;-)

I just loved it - and Fluffy McFluff Fluff is the only way to go these next few weeks.  Feel free to have another crazy dream tonight!!

Author's Response:

I actually thought of that - but I wanted to have them keep it to themselves for a bit.  Don't worry - the day could hardly go by without Kelly noticing.

Hijack away!  Everything you imagine is exactly how I think it would go.

I really can't make myself read anything angsty at the moment - let alone write it.  So glad to hear I'm not alone!!

You never know what might happen. :)  Thanks again Mox!

Thanks for warning me about the smut...you know how delicate my sensibilities are. I'd say this line, pretty much sums this chapter up:

Steam fills the small space almost immediately.

Yes, siree. It sure does. This was, I think, the best steam you've written. I mean, I read it a couple of times in previews, and was STILL, uh, moved. And I love how you worked in the Dwight stuff...that dialogue was perfect. SO funny.  Ah, this has been top notch fluff all the way through. (And ditto what you said about Halpert Syndrome...as I said in a recent fic - it's the affliction with no cure! And only Pam is privvy to the treatment, damn her!)

Author's Response:

I thought about you immediately. ;)

Wow?  The best?  Trust me what's on the page is 25x tamer than the images in my head.  But you know me - I strive to be a master of subtlety.  ;)

I was saying to MA earlier I need to write Dwight more often.  He's so much fun!!

Thanks as always.  Now stop reading and get writing missy!!!

So happy. There is nothing wrong with living in fluff. :)

Author's Response: So glad!  And you are right.  There isn't.  :)

It's people like you that keep making me fall for Jim! - it's not funny, I can probably never look at other guys properly ever again.

Anyway, adore this to bits. You're my go-to author for Teh Fluff - you are amazing at this. And their discussion on the brownstone and the question and then the Tiffany's and the Elaine and - oh, eesh, I already can't wait for an update.

And the ring looks freaking gorgeous.

Author's Response:

It's called Jim Halpert Syndrome moofoot.  There are tons of us who have already been diagnosed.   Support groups meet every Thursday at 8:30 Eastern. ;)

Update soon.  I promise.

And I know.  Doesn't it????

ok so that's basically the ring of my dreams. Pam and Jim (xoxoxo) have excellent taste! How freaking romantic is this story...first the park and now Tiffany's! And Jim not taking no for an answer. Totally moving heaven and earth like Gloria said...I LOVE IT.

Author's Response: Why thank you!   I like to pretend I do - that's for sure. :)   I'M SO HAPPY YOU DO!  lol!

I took a few liberties truth be told.  I'm pretty confident that Tiffany only sets rings in 18k or platinum but whateves - it's fanfic!

dammit - Tiffany's website is temporary closed for browsing!!! Did you save a picture of this ring?

How exciting it was read (I almost wrote "watch"!) Jim being so determined to buy her the ring.

“And that’s exactly why you deserve something better.”

Ain't that the truth??!?  You know Karen would have just assumed her ring was coming from Tiffany's.  Would it be rude of Pam to send Karen an anonymous envelope with just a photo of that ring on her finger?  :-)

Can't wait for the steam!!!

Author's Response:

It's working now - but I've got a pic if you still can't access. :)

Sigh.  Please don't even hint about Karen assuming she's getting a ring from Jim - let alone one from Tiffany's.

Pam doesn't need to send a pic of the ring.    Karen is going to prove to be no match for her in Jim's eyes when all is said and done - you just watch.

I know.  From my keyboard to GD's ears. :)

Hee--I can totally understand Pam's fright over getting a $6,000 ring, but she deserves it for having to wait so long to be with Jim.  And we deserve to see this little scene in our heads for being denied it on the show.  :)

Author's Response:

Oh it would totally freak her out but notice she never took that sucker off the whole time she protested. ;)

And we do.   We definitely do.   Thanks invis!

I LOVE that Jim Halpert!!!  How freaking adorable can one man be?

Author's Response: Pretty freaking adorable.  It's pratically criminal I tell ya. ;)

As always, a pleasure to read.  The way you give even the sunniest of fluff an air of substance and plausibility is truly an art.  Also, I hope Tiffany & Co hooked you up with some free loot in exchange for the product placement.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much brokenloon.  You're entirely too sweet.   I'm glad my silly dream came across well in the translation.  And re: Tiffany & Co.  Don't I wish!!!   Especially due to the fact that there are pieces I actually own (and wear daily).  I give them free advertising all the time!!!

Damn.  That ring is...wow.  But this isn't about the ring, this is about your story...sorry, I'm getting sidetracked looking at the ring again.  You have excellent taste :)  But yes, this is such a sweet story, can't wait to read the last chapter!

Author's Response: LOL!  Thanks Wendy.  I think Pam deserves something...wow based on that Cracker Jack trinket Roy thought qualified as a ring. ;) I'm so glad you liked it (both the ring and the story!)

Great job! I've been to Tiffany's in NYC and it's extravagant. I was miserable the whole time...but, you know...the jewelry was nice.

Author's Response:

Oh BeckySue - don't let Tiffany's intimidate you.  Just pick something in silver - it's really not as expensive as you might think.  Of course - if Jim wanted a real deal on jewelry he should have headed to the Diamond District on 47th St. :)

Thanks for taking a little trip w/Jim and Pam in my hometown.  I'm glad you liked it!

That is one pretty ring.  And I'm really not one for showy jewelry.  Oh, you know how much I enjoy you writing fluff.  This story just delights me so. :)  It is fun to imagine Jim as the perfect boyfriend. LOL  Can't wait to read more of it.

Author's Response:

I'm going to make a weird analogy here.  Writing Jim as the perfect boyfriend is easy because I just imagine he's like a puppy.   He's just absolutely delighted to be around Pam and make her happy.

And I just love that ring.  So I'm living vicariously. ;) More soon!

That ring is gorgeous. :) Me likey.

And I love this fic. It's just so sigh-worthy. :)

Author's Response: I wanted Pam to have something out of the ordinary.   Sigh-worthy? Alrighty then.  My work is done. ;)

eeek! I THINK I saw that this is not finished?? That makes me VERY happy. Such a romantic city for them....the image of them lying under a tree, her head in his lap...::sigh:: please continue.

Author's Response: Still more to come Ms. LoveFool.  My friends and I were talking the other day about having a picnic in the park.  Think JK would come along if I invited him?  LOL!

Awww...I love how Jim proposed and that Pam didn't believe him at first but then she realized there was no good reason not too...perfect.  Absolutely adorable.

Author's Response: Well flamingos I mean - c'mon.  What reason she could possibly have to say no?  LOL!  Glad you liked it!

Hurrah!!!  I love it.  Very sweet.  And this was great--vintage Jim/Pam dialog:

"You think that's sexy - wait till I tell you about Cubism."

He steps back, seemingly horrified.  "Pam.  We're in public.  Control yourself please."

Author's Response: Hee!  It's funny how the dialogue just rings in my head.  Sometimes I fear it's really what I would say - but often I think it works both ways.  So glad you enjoyed it!

I was in the musical "Sunday in the Park with George" a few years ago...so ths felt a little close to my heart.

Yaaay proposals! I'm excited for more.

Author's Response:

I love Seurat's painting - but sadly I've never seen that musical.  So weird because I'm a musical theater junkie myself.

I'm glad you liked it.  More coming soon!

Author's Response: Hee indeed ms. lisahoo.   Hee indeed!!  Glad I could make you happy!  I'm so glad you liked it!

I love teh Fluffies!  This is no exception.  I quite enjoy your semi-conscious universe. :)

Awwwww. I love this. In this universe I can believe that Jim and Pam really are meant to be together.

Author's Response:

And isn't it sad that in the *real* universe we're beginning to doubt??   I can't even believe it.  :(  Stay tuned - more happiness ahead - at least in my fic.
