OMG this is such a funny idea - I love the Newlywed Game.  :-D  the couples are just perfect too.  And I love the question that Jim and Pam got wrong.  :-)

and definitely another whoopie question for the wives!  Something along the lines of  "Wives, answer this question.  'If I were to compare my husband's style of making whoopie with an animal, he would be a: a tiger, a bear, an English sheepdog, or a kitten...."

I'll leave the rest to you!!

Author's Response: Thanks so much, moxie..there will definitely be a saucy question or for the wives (much to Angela's chagrin)

How much fun is this? As someone old enough to remember the original Newlywed Show, this was such a treat. So many lines cracked me up, but these two were especially great:

(Jim) Like your famous roast foot?

and

(Jim) Well, Bob, you’ve never had my grilled cheese.

Something about the way he says 'Bob' is so spot-on for both Jim and the tone of that show. This is such a wonderful way to capture the quirks of all these couples. And, who doesn't love The 'Weds?

Author's Response: Thanks so much, Colette.  I imagined Jim as being very comfortable and having good comic timing, at least until Pam outs him as loud in bed.  One thing I noticed while watching the show again for research is how great Bob Eubanks was...he really made it work.  I remember watching it as a kid in the 70s and having only a vague idea what whoopee was.

This was GREAT!  I could actually picture the set (and Bob!) as I was reading.  Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Thanks, glad it came across that way.  I visualized the show as I wrote it.

!!!! When Pam said that Jim was too loud during sex, I was howling.  Good thing my room mate was already at class at 9 am.  Can't wait for the next ch.

Author's Response: Glad you got a laugh out of it, and too bad for your roommate...I always hated early classes.  There will be more to come.

"Salads are virtuous." That sounds like the title of Angela's forthcoming autobiography for some reason. This was excellent, really. I laughed out loud as I pictured the scene unfolding. I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Thanks cuz...there will be more...would you beleived I googled beet recipes as research for this?

This was fabulous.  Everyone is perfectly in character and the dialogue is absolutely hilarious.  Ensemble-like pieces are really tough to do (IMHO) and you are pulling it off beautifully.    Here's a little list I found when googling....questions and another.  Something like this question in particular I think would be hysterical.

Which song best describes your first date? Sea of Love, Maneater, Separate Ways, Our Lips are Sealed, or Cold as Ice?

Can't wait for the commercial break to be over. ;)  Please post more soon!

and PS - I adore this so much I couldn't help myself.  I gave you a ribbon.  :)

Author's Response: Thanks tons for the review and the links and the question suggestion and the ribbon.  I think that's my first ribbon in anything since the eight grade.

OMG, Brokenloon, this is fabulous!  I used to watch this all the time, sad, huh?  These lines are great:

(Dwight) Jim, I can think of many things you do that are more annoying than that.

(Jim) Well, Dwight, you’re not my wife.

(Bob) You fall asleep while she’s talking?

(Ryan) Not as much as I’d like to, Bob.

(Kelly) (Hits Ryan in the arm) Weeks? It was not weeks! Great, now I look like a whore on television. I can’t believe you said weeks it was not weeks

(Angela) While awake, his conduct is virtally blameless. When he sleeps, he snores like the demon dogs of hell

Question for Ch. 2:  "Gentlemen, how does your wife usually let you know she's in the mood to make whoopee?"

Author's Response: Thanks so much, glad you liked.  I watched it a lot, too.  It was fun to visualize the show with them.

funny! very much enjoying.  It's late and i'm incoherent, but I like this a lot :)

Author's Response: Thanks.  Nothing wrong with being incoherent, I'm that way most of the time.

Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha!  Ohhhh...sigh.  That was fabulous.  So many favorite parts!!!  I think this is my favorite:

(Bob) You fall asleep while she’s talking?

(Ryan) Not as much as I’d like to, Bob.

Guffaw!  Seriously, Kelly and Ryan are freakin' hysterical in this.  And of course Pam and Jim are cuter than it's even possible for humans to be, but that's to be expected. I love them getting everything right except Jim's annoying habit of being a screamer--hee!

Author's Response: Thanks so much, always nice to get a guffaw.  That line was one of my favorites.

oh please more.  I absolutely love the newlywed game and I pay for GSN just to watch it!

Author's Response: There will be more...it's funny, I just noticed it's Newlywed Game and not Newlywed Show...how do I miss that?  Oh well.  Thanks for the review.

This is so funny! I love it! Great job, you write the characters perfectly!

Author's Response: Thanks...I've never felt that confident writing the characters, so I'm glad to hear that.

Oh, this is great fun!

Round 2 questions...

What will your husband say is your best body part?

Hmm, if I think of anything else I'll review again...

Author's Response: Thanks TLK!
