ooooh it's getting interesting now.  "The divorce"?  I like long chapters - it's good for story development.  keep going!

I adore this story. I LOVE everyone's AU jobs and relationships to one another. Most importantly, though, I appreciate how even though they are "new" characters, they still have a shadow of what made us love them, like Jim being a gentleman and Pam being slightly un-courageous.

Anyway, can't wait for more, more more!

I second that, nbyevu.

Well unless Pam was doing something that you are very much not including in the story, she is not a prostitute. I think you should update with very, very long chapters every hour on the hour. Just my opinion but I think it would be shared by others.

Author's Response: Haha, I don't think that I can write fast enough for every hour, but it makes me happy to know that people anticipate my next update that much! :D Have no fear, the next chapter will be up before too long.

Haha, don't worry, Pam didn't come off as a prostitute at all! Jim's just generous, and hey, who wouldn't want to give a little sugar to their crush? I keep going back to the recent stories, hoping you've updated, so you definitely need to post more tonight. I love this so much!

Author's Response: Hee! There will be another chapter posted in a couple of hours, I promise. :)

No, it doesn't come off like Pam's a prostitute.  Jim's just a bit flush with cash, so he spreads it around a bit.  There are definitely people like that around!

I like how Jim came to the kitchen to ask Pam to the party, and wrote out the directions and all...  Hmmm... he didn't ask Dwight or Angela or Kelly to the party...

I'm enjoying this.

I love the alternative universe you have created. It's nice to see Jim and Pam meeting like this, both of them open to new opportunities without any Roys or Karens standing in their way. Oh wait, is there a Karen? Please don't let there be a Karen!

Anyway, I really can't wait till the next update. I keep refreshing the page and checking. Your story is making my summer a little better. Thanks.

PS: I love your version of Dwight, and I can't wait your rating to increase ;).

Author's Response:

Aw! You're too sweet! I'm glad that my story is making your summer a little better. :)

And there may be a Karen...*looks around suspiciously*. Her role is...drastically different from the actual show though. At least how I have it planned. I haven't written her in yet.

Wow, this is my favorite chapter too!  I love that you made Jim really successful but didn't really change his personality.  I can't wait for your next update!!

I did catch her sister Kate; it's a great name.  Dwight's role amused me to no end, and Angela's role amused me even more.  Just wonderful!  I also really liked your description of the particular group of businessmen.

I really enjoyed the description of her apartment, and the subtlety there about how Pam didn't need much.  She had enough utensils, she didn't need much furniture (thanks anyway, Mom), she knew she didn't need a car in the city....  She's pared down to what she needs.  I just love all of that.  It's subtly done and just wonderful!

I am so enjoying this.

Yay! Jim is the tallest businessman.

Is the small petite blonde supposed to be Angela? That's probably a dumb question...I'm guessing yes. If it's no, then I'm dumb anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter. I like this way of Pam and Jim meeting. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Hurray, hurray! Of course, she had to get into a NY school for it all to work, but still, I'm relieved.  I really like your description of her time since breaking things off with Roy.

Ok, this is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!  I love the way you wrote Dwight....you did such a good job of showing how he really is sweet.  Of course I can't wait to see what comes next...you left this at such a good little cliffhanger!

Yay, you're having Pam attend NYU! I'm going there next year. =]

I'd love to read the next chapter, and see her interact with Jim in an AU setting. Keep it going, and update soon!

I am glad that chapters are long... I printed out while I was getting my hair done and the time just flew by.

On to the story... I liked how Pam is starting to come into her all by herself and I especially like the conversation she had w/ her mom and the support she gets from her.  You captured the acceptance letter scene great.

I am looking forwward to more and I will be reading the next chapter tonight.

Side note: I too live in area where the jobs suck and I am currently way over qualified for my job!

I really, really like this fic already. Yay to getting rid of Roy right off the bat!

As for jobs for Jim, Michael and Ryan...maybe they could work on Wall Street or something? I don't know what kind of jobs require fancy-gala-attending, but stocks jobs pay a lot...I don't know. Seeing as I've never written a fic before I don't know why you'd take my advice, but....yea.

I'm interested to see where you are going to go with this fic, I'm looking to see where you add Jim into this. As for possible jobs...a brooker on wall street? I got an image of Michael making an a$$ out of himself by playing with the bell. But I'm looking forward to see what you decide.

making me miserably unemployed right now

Hi, are you me? I'm dealing with the same thing only I also have writer's block, so...yeah. I'm reading a lot of Jammy goodness to make it better. :) I'm really enjoying what you have so far. While I love all the post-finale stuff I've been reading, this is a very nice and welcome change of pace.

I agree that a good AU job would be advertising. It seems like a good profession for Jim and Michael to use their creativity (Michael almost needs a job like that) and Ryan could be an exec with either the company they work for, or one of their major clients. It would play to his business abilities and not necessarily require him to be creative, which I don't see as one of his strengths. All he would have to do is approve Michael and Jim's ideas.

Author's Response:

Well, I don't *think* that you're me...haha, kidding. :) But I was seriously so happy when I came up with the idea for this story. I kept thinking, "YES! Something to write!". I have such a hard time writing post-finale stuff because I guess I like to have an idea of what's going to happen next before making up my own ideas. (That sounds really weird, but I swear that's pretty much dead on what I think)

Thank you for your detailed suggestions! I will certainly take it into consideration. :)

This is just wonderful.  And no apologies for chapter lengths!  You don't want to add a bunch of filler just to make it longer, and this is perfect to finish off this little scene.  So... Apology not... accepted. Because it wasn't even necessary in the first place.  (/Andy)

Swanky galas... Actually, they don't have to have high paying jobs to take them to fundraising galas.  They can work for the agencies trying to raise money via the galas.  So they put on the galas, put on their fancy suits for the occasion, and mingle and raise money.

Alternatively, they could work for a NY firm which gives out money to various worthy charities for tax breaks and such, and they can be in the department that determines who's worthy.  Maybe they also fund the arts, and struggling new artists.  Maybe they set them up in cool little lofts.

Author's Response:

You leave great responses. I just thought I should tell you that.
And well, swanky galas, trips places...basically, they have a lot of money to throw around. I don't want to get into too much detail without completely giving away my secret plans for the three of them. I like your suggestions a lot though (well, I like both of the suggestions I've received so far) -- I'll certainly take them into consideration.

Thank you! :)
