Oh my god that was awesome!  The trees went up in flames!  Hilarious.  Boy Jim, how long is it going to take you to realize that you need to stop planning the perfect proposal and just go with your gut?  Shoulda done it in the alley.  Heh.

Author's Response:

how long is it going to take you to realize that you need to stop planning the perfect proposal and just go with your gut?

hahaha - you are on to me, belsum!  It will take approximately two more chapters.  :-)   So glad you are enjoying it.

OMG, poor JIM!!! I'm feeling so bad for this guy! Now freaking electricity is against him! Oy....ok, moving on to the next chapter. Sometimes it pays off to miss a day around here, because you're rewarded with multiple chapters! Yay!!!

Author's Response: Jim seems to be the modern day Job (as opposed to Gob from AD!) in this story, but it just proves that he really does want to marry her, right??  Thanks for reviewing, LoveFool!

"But at the time all Jim Halpert knew was that the elaborately decorated pine trees were not the only things going down in flames, and the only person who would truly appreciate the insanity of the situation was the very woman he couldn't yet let in on the secret."   As the wife of a fire fighter I normally take fires very seriously, but this was a riot! I can just imagine the look on Jim's face as the trees went up in flames!  Nicely crafted third try.

Author's Response:

thanks, kay!!  I know it was a bit dramatic, but it was worth it because I was tickled everytime I thought of what Jim's reaction would be.  If only we could see this on the show....

Thanks for reading and reviewing, as always!!

Author's Response:

No, Jim's going to have to EARN this engagement.....  :-)

Thanks for reading!!

Hah!  The best laid plans of Jim Halpert continually go astray.

I'm pretty sure at this point that Jim is just going to throw the damn ring box at Pam and say, "Put it on, dammit!"  I know, now you're going to be mad at me for ruining the surprise, but I couldn't stand having all these people in suspense.  Throw, put it on, dammit.  That's all anyone needs to know.

What a comedy, to have all three Christmas trees down.  Question: was a cheese pita seen in the area?

Author's Response:

haha - OMG, you know me too well, Kev!!   :-)  I did actually tell a friend that after 4 misses he's just going to 'chuck the damn ring at her head'.  Because let's face it, after all the things he's had to put up with, her saying NO is not even an option at this point.....

And no, not a cheese pita in sight, but I'd still be happy to blame Fire Guy.  :-)

The Christmas trees had to be sacrified!!!  NOO!!!!.  Darn trees ruining Jim's proposal.  I, like Pam, am slightly a Christmas freak.  I love it when stories add little things like that I can connect to.

Author's Response: Yes, I am a christmas freak too - and I just know that Pam is.  :-)  Hopefully next Christmas they'll actually be engaged and pine trees won't have to burn in vain.... ;-)  Thanks for reading!!

My jaw just dropped. I should've seen that coming, but I didn't and it was hilarious! I'm really loving these, Moxie! I can't wait to see how (and when) it finally works out.

Author's Response: Thanks, Azlin!  I just hope the time he gets it right will be worth the hype!  ;-)

Ha ha ha! It was all so sweet and fluffy right up to the end, and then it turned hysterical.

You've got such a handle on Pam's and Jim's voices, it always makes reading your stories such a pleasure. Although I have to say that I'm almost sad when beginning each chapter of this story, because I know it will not end in a proposal. Bring on that 5th chapter quick!

Author's Response:

thanks so much for the high praise - getting their voices just right means everything to me!!

I'm working on the 4th proposal attempt now, so hang in there !

OUCH! Jim, you poor, poor bastard. This is just payback for his time wasted on the Pantsuit Queen, right? But you made me laugh despite his pain. Looking forward to the next chapter but especially to the happy happy ending you've most likely got up your sleeve!

Author's Response:

LOL - I hadn't really thought of it, but you must be right.  This is Pam's guardian angel just getting her kicks into Jim for being so stupid.  ;-)

and the happy ending?  I have no idea yet what happens.  ;-)

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! oh this was so good! nothing at all is working for Jim! when he finally does get to propose it's going to be wonderful b/c he'll finally be able to laugh with Pam about how crazy it's been trying to ask her. I love how it's all sweet and romantic, then all of a sudden everything, literally, goes up in flames! oh it's too funny. Thanks for another great chapter, moxie

Author's Response: Glad you liked it, rules!  Hope the last two chapters live up to the first three!!

He should have followed his earlier impulse! Oh, poor Jim. Heee.

I love how simply grateful Pam is to be with him. So sweet.

Author's Response:

Yes, Jim has a history of not acting on his first impulses, which he really should learn to trust, don't you think?

And I think Pam would be grateful for their 'second chance' for quite a long time. :-)

Oh my God, poor Jim! He just can't even catch a break when he's got the girl, huh? The Christmas trees all burning down was both hilarious and sad.

I can't wait to see how he finally gets around to accomplishing this. :)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review - I hope I can deliver the happy ending Jim really deserves.  :-)

Poor Jim just keeps getting a raw deal in this story. I really like how you've written the development of their relationship.

Can't wait to see how Jim gets screwed in the next chapter!

Author's Response: Hehe - well, he only has to survive one more failed attempt.  But what kind of toll does this kind of bad luck take?

oh my God they just keep getting better.  I can't wait until it's all said and done and Jim can tell Pam about all these foiled plans, because I think she'd appreciate them.  Hehe.

awesome job

Author's Response: Thanks, PPC - I think she will too... (oops, was that a spoiler?  You'll have to wait and see....)  ;-)

wow. that was unusually... dark.. for a moxie fic, but i really loved reading it! haha.. all the christmas trees caught on fire. and 50 schrute bucks for making me all nostalgic about christmastime in wilkes-barre. especially the courthouse.. we should get andy's accapella group to sing there, great acoustics. ^_^

Author's Response: Wow - I am so surprised I passed the test with someone who's actually been to Wilkes Barre; I guess I just grew up in a similar enough town that I my imagination wasn't that off.  And I couldn't help but show my dark side in this story.  And there's still one more failed attempt to go.....

BAHHH HAHA HA HAHAA!! Figures that the trees would catch on fire. I mean, it's not funny, but come on.. it's kinda funny. ;) I do think Jim's karma is just playing tricks on him now.

Author's Response:

Hee - I found it pretty funny too.  But I have a sick sense of humour.  :-)

Thanks for the review, Jecks!!

Jim certainly has a problem getting things right at Christmas, eh?  Poor Jim.  I'm such a nerd that Pam's simple "I love you" made me smile really big.  This is a great, fun story.  Despite Jim's obvious torture ;)

Author's Response: Well, I think Jim needs to focus on the fact that she does love him, so it doesn't mean squat that he can't seem to get the proposal out.  But I doubt he'll let it go that easily.  He's on a mission now.  ;-)
