Oh thank god!  Despite his objections a Dunder Miflin proposal was perfect.  That's where their lives together truly began!  Love the old guy at the jewelry store telling Jim to get over himself.  And the conversation where Jim finally revealed all his attempts to Pam was so wonderfully them.

Author's Response:

I should probably put it somewhere in the chapter notes, but I always pictured the old guy in the jewelry store as Morgan Freeman.  Maybe it's all the recent Evan Almighty hype.  ;-)

I'm so happy you think it worked out well in the end.  :-)

Oh, these were so lovely. I was dying when Jim couldn't find his shaving kit and the actual proposal was perfect. Yay, you!

Author's Response:

yay - a time when dying is a good thing!  I'm glad I was able to convey Jim's (near) breakdown when he realizes what she's done.   At least all the drama was worth it for him in the end, yes?

Thanks for reading, Paper Jam!! (and I agree with the current chatter on TWOP - we need more of your stories!!)

oh INDEED the perfect time. Moxie how BEAUTIFUL was this!!! Ugh, suddenly I want it to be winter! lol. What a magical setting for them to finally get engaged in. THEIR parking lot of doom, turned into a winter wonderland....Pam catching snowflakes on her tongue. I could just SEE the entire moment played out. This was such a fun story! Thanks so much!

Author's Response: Yay - I'm so glad you thought the payoff was worth the 4 chapters of torture... :-)  And I SOOO want to see this played out on tv - say maybe the end of season 6?  or 8?

Yayyy! He finally did it! Awesome chapter! I love that he told her everything...so sweet. And I was squeeling like a little fan girl during the whole snow/proposal scene. Loved it!!

Author's Response: Awesome - fan girl squees are the best reviews ever!!!  Thanks for reading, bealsa!

Aw, so sweet! I admit, I was about as frustrated as Jim during #4 - it was such a well planned, extravagant event and then Pam went and ruined it! Such a waste of David Wallace's connections and money ;) But you redeemed the situation in the end. That was a wonderful moment.

Author's Response: Yes, I have this image in my mind of Jim ducking Wallace's calls for the first couple of days, then sending an apologetic email to which Wallace calls and teases him.  No doubt one of the first people to find out it finally happened will be him.  (No, I know this isn't reality.  Honestly.)  ;-)  Thanks for the review, Semby!!

*Happy, happy sigh* This is so pretty. So perfect. So funny, too (and I was glad Pam was properly mortified and apologetic about messing with his stuff). So romantic, so simple, and so them. (And so "you"- because you always manage to capture all of that about them).

Author's Response: awww...you're the best, nqllisi!  (and you've got blue ribbons to prove it!!)  Yes, I have to admit I was thinking about your comments when I had Jim confess to the 4 proposal mishaps.  Maybe because it was the most recent one, but he still thinks she's deserves a spanking for messing with his stuff.  But I guess that's the plot of a different type of fanfic altogether!  ;-)

What a great story!  I love that while his first 4 attempts were elaborate and outlandish, the one that stuck was quiet, low-key, private and just lovely.  Way to make something nice happen in the parking lot too, very appropriate.  Awesome ring too.

Author's Response: ....and thanks for the great review!!  :-)

Way to break the curse Ms. Moxie.  Well done you!!

Proposing!Jim is uber sweet - just like I like him. :)  Thank you so much for giving us such a lovely glimpse of what might be.

Author's Response: Thank you - I should feel more guilty for stringing Jim along like that, but I don't.  :-)  It made the actual event even sweeter, I think.  (not that he's not a dork!)  Thanks for all the cheerleading you do!

(That ring is freaking amazing, btw. Now I totally want one just like it. lol)

This was adorable, and had such a great ending. I loved it. :)

Author's Response: yeah, I imagine he probably was saying "Finally!!!" in his head about a million times that night...  So glad you liked the story!  Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

I was really saddened by Jim's attempts... as he continued to fail, I just got sadder and sadder for him. I love how you had so much hope and happiness but with a bit of frustration.
And the end made all the frustration worth it. Nice work!

Author's Response: Sorry there was so much happening against Jim - but at least he did figure it all out in the end.  :-)  I'm so glad you enjoyed the story!!

What a beautiful proposal!! I'm crying. Seriously! You did a wonderful job of capturing the scene. I felt like I was standing in the middle of the parking lot right with Jim and Pam! Ahhh!!!!

Aww he finally got to doit!!!  I'm so sad to see this story go, Jim's failed attempts at a proposal have been heartbreaking and hilarious at the same time...but I have to say I think that bringing it all back to the parking lot when they're just being Jim and Pam was the best way to do it...awesome story!

Author's Response: thank you!!  Now to just see this on the show - maybe sometime in season 8?  ;-)

She did almost forget to say that part - but can you blame her?  It's 85 degrees here right now, but all I can think of is snow...

Thanks for the review!

Aww, Moxie, ya got me tearing up now.  And of course the PLoD is the ONLY place where Jim can propose to Pam.  It's the only way we can wipe away all that angst!  If TPTB ever allow us to see the proposal, it better happen there!

Oh yeah, lovely story, by the way, blah blah blah...insert usual gushing over all Moxie-penned stories here.

Author's Response:

You're too funny, EH - can I get a mp3 version of that usual gushing so I can play it on my iPod when I'm feeling unworthy??  :-)

Thanks for the review!  You're the best!

Ok first off, that's awfully similar to my ring (except I have a princess cut).

But in this day and age where it seems that extravagant proposals are becoming the norm, it feels like the meaning behind them is lost.  I can't help but think about an recent interview with John Krasinski and Mandy Moore on The Fuse, where John was asked if he thought about what kind of proposal he would do, and he's not even considering proposing to someone (that we know of).  I couldn't believe the stupidity of that question.

But that's why I love this story.  I love how it brought the meaning of the proposal back.  I love how Pam says it so poignantly  "Don't you see that I don't care where we are or what you do? If and when you propose, all I'm going to care about is hearing those words. You don't need to make elaborate plans because what's going to matter most to me is that you'd reached the point where you think marriage is our next step. Jim, you know me better than anyone. How could you think I would care how you proposed?"

For me a good proposal is about being inspired by the moment and by the love for the person recieving the proposal.  And perfections aren't in the extravagant details, it's in the atmosphere and the meaning of what is going on.  That's why that last proposal was more perfect than any big plan could ever had been.

Very well done, Moxie!!!

Sorry for such a long review, but I really needed to explain why that last chapter just made me so happy.

Author's Response:

Well I certainly don't need to explain the moral of my tale to you, BJB - you are so very, very correct!!  And really, could it happen any other way between those two?

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely review!  You're the best!

Moxie, you've done it again.

What a fabulous story.  I was on pins and needles for each chapter wondering what would happen to poor Jim next.

This was my fave part:

"Oh, did you slip?" She asked, concerned when she saw him kneeling in the snow. She reached for his hand, but stopped when she realized what was going on. "What are you doing?"

Author's Response: thanks so much, beeswax!!  I know I was pretty hard on poor sweet Jim, but I hope the last chapter made up for it.  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
