Awww.  He certainly made up for his lateness by getting everyone else to stop by.  Very cute story.

Author's Response: That's our Jim!

aww, Jim is so freaking sweet, getting everyone to come to Pam's show & changing his clothes seven or eight times.

Are you done with HP7?  Because I hope we get another chapter soon!

Author's Response: I'm done with HP7 so don't worry!

Jim is so sweet! He emailed people to tell them about her show!
All the characters are really well done here; all perfectly in character. And Jim and Pam are so sweetly nervous and excited and happy.
Nice job. Looking forward to dinner!

Author's Response: Perfectly in character? Thanks -- that's a great compliment! :)

That's so freaking adorable that Jim told everyone in the office about the art show. You really have their voices down, the dialogue is very realistic. Great job!

Author's Response: Glad you found it realistic. Thanks!

Nervous JAM is the best JAM of all the JAM. Adorkable awkwardness reigns supreme. Excellent! Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: I love the word "adorkable" so thanks for mentioning it.

Yay!  This is soooo sweet and good.  And don't think I didn't notice how Jim orchestrated getting everyone to her art show.  ;-)

Author's Response: Yes, our Squirrel is indeed adorable. Thanks for the review!

If I'd seen Jim wearing what you described, my hands would be completely useless. heh

Author's Response: I think that goes for all of us.

Your Michael is so perfectly Michael!  Between his "...we don't have to listen to her" and the traitor speech, I can only imagine the hell Karen and Ryan will be putting the Scranton office through. The Pam and Jim conversation was so sweet.

Author's Response: How can you not love Michael? I so had to add him in for that reason.

"All her hopes for the past year -- well, it'd really been many years -- were encapsulated in that one "It's a date," and that was fading fast."  As soon as I read it was Karen on the phone I got a little worried myself.  Great line.

Author's Response: Don't be worried. I promise it'll get better.

Wow, great start. I am already committed to this story. I actually had a lump in my throat during the conversation in the breakroom. But in the end, "I'll see you at six" was a great way to finish. Great job, great job, great job!

Author's Response: Thanks, thanks, thanks! And don't worry -- there's more where that came from.

Good dialog! I can just hear Jim saying, "I think I told you yesterday that I would be there at six soooo I'm pretty sure I'll be there at six."

Author's Response: In his sarcastic Jim voice, which I love! You can never have enough Sarcastic!Jim.

Loving all of this. Forearms!!! Yay! Banter! Double-yay! The return of the beloved Rubber Band Ball! Yay x 3! Can't wait to see more.

Author's Response: Love the yays! Thanks.

Nice!  I'm surprised you went with Karen getting the job and Ryan being number 2 for her.  Interesting!

I love Jim's "I'm pretty sure I'll be there at six" and that whole discussion.

Kelly dissing Ryan's bedroom skills in front of everyone was pretty funny.  I don't know what I'd do if I ever saw anyone do that.  Yikes.

I'm enjoying your story!

Author's Response: I wanted to shake up Karen and Ryan a bit so I'm glad you liked it.

I really like how this is starting.  The conversation about the art show is especially good - the little nuances!

Pam's "What's up" in the break room reminded me of the parking lot talk in The Merger; it's the same sort of 'I know this isn't good' feeling from Pam.

Author's Response: Glad you liked the nuances.

I fear for Karen & Ryan as the new boss-team.  But I'm dying to get to the art show!! (Jim's insistence at being there at six is SOOOOO s2 Jim. hurray!)

Yay for Sharky writing being back!!!  :-)

Author's Response: I think I may have to skip anymore Karen & Ryan because those two as bosses would be scary.

Your Jim and Pam interactions were really spot on here. And, poor Micheal; he is just heartbroken that his family has betrayed him.

Author's Response: I know. Michael's kids are his employees, poor guy, which just makes it all funnier in that context.

Oh, yay! I am so excited for this WIP. Liking it a lot so far... another art show is a fun spin to the first date fic.

Author's Response: Glad you liked it so far.

I actually have a little fluttery feeling in my gut right now, along with an enormous smile on my face.  Wow.  I'm just loving this so much -- first of all, the discomfort level here is right on par with the show: equal parts cringeworthy and absolutey hilarious!  I can so see Kelly storming out while still screaming at Ryan, and I could completely hear Michael giving that little speech.  Even Kevin's, "I think it does" was spot-on.

And Jim & Pam...love that when he moves to the old desk, you have him say, "I'm back."  Lovely allusion to the conversation from Beach Day/The Job.  And that last little exchange is so very Jim & Pam -- if we're lucky this season, this is exactly the dynamic we'll see.

But uh, since we won't know for nine more weeks, could you just keep this going?  And update way quickly?  'Kay thanks, bye!  LOL

Seriously, though -- love this.  Such a treat!

Author's Response: As much as it's totally Jim and Pam, I had to add those other characters in because it wouldn't be the same DM without them so glad you liked those little moments. And yeah, the "I'm back" was a BG/Job reference, albeit a bit blatant.

First of all: Yaay, you're back!  Second of all, a Dwight bobble head and a dundie for you because you had Jim roll his sleeves up and expose the goods!  :o)

I really like this - so like Pam to automatically assume the worst, and you capture the awkwardness between them so well.  Love it that they got through it.  And him whispering, "I'll see you at six"...? HOT.

On to the next chapter!

Author's Response: I get a Dwight bobblehead AND a Dundie for rolling up Jim's sleeves? Sweet.

Really enjoying this one.  I'm always happy when Jim's sleeves get rolled back up.  Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Because who doesn't love Jim's rolled-up sleeves? :)

Heh...interesting twist on the "who got the job?" debate. Wouldn't it be hilariously awful if Karen actually did get the job and became Jim's boss? Can you say vindictive?

Again, really fantastic stuff here. I love the continued awkward JAMminess of the story, and Michael's anger over being "betrayed." Nicely done!

Author's Response: Exactly! Karen as Jim's boss would be all kinds of cool awkwardness.

First of all, hooray for Jim getting back to normal and rolling his sleeves back up! I'm no forearm fetishist, but it's good to see some semblance of normalcy, ya know?

Also, I could totally see something like this happening on the show, and I think you handled it wonderfully. A brief moment of angst, but an invitation to her art show--accepted, this time!--made it all okay. Off to read the next chapter!

Author's Response: I can't believe how many of you like the rolled-up sleeves. That's so awesome!
