Wow, belated congrats on your 50th!! Which must also mean it's my 50th time of telling you what an awesome writer you are!! Loved this chapter. From Googling "Really rich old people who are related to Michael G. Scott " to the Burger King guy (who totally creeps me out) to Pam having special jelly beans for Dwight - it was all awesome.

I'm so glad you broke through your writer's block and finished this and a great job you did. Funny and perfect characterization, I loved it. My favorite parts were Dwight going on about the farm and Michael wanting a plastic bag, to suffocate himself. Oh, and Chicken a la diet Dr. Pepper? Can we get the recipe in the cooking thread? No?
Author's Response: Oh EH. ME TOO. I'm so glad you liked it. I cracked myself up while writing this and though I think I'm pretty damn witty - I am so glad to hear you do too. The Dr Pepper Chicken comes from a long Weight Watchers career. I don't own a crock pot - but I've seen this recipe thrown around alot in WW circles. Sounds like something Jan might stumble upon if she had nothing to do all day but stumble around the condo. So here you go...Diet Coke Chicken

I think that you've hit this out of the park, but of course you know that I love it. I think that you've got the characterizations just right, especially Jim and Michael. I really am in awe at how well you write Michael! Or I'm frightened. But you're the best, and this chapter is awesome. Really awesome.

(Does that make her the secret assistant to the assistant regional manager?) Great job tying in actual show elements with Michael's new adventure.

Oh my dear lord are you sure you didn't steal this off the desk of one of the show writers? Because you've just nailed everything about how it works! The main focus is Michael, or Jim fucking with Dwight (and Michael) with a little bit of Jammy goodness sprinkled on top for good measure. And you even got the perfect tone of Pam interacting with Dwight and Andy and Dwight fighting over being Michael's stooge! I need to see this filmed immediately!

This was all sorts of funny, with the BK/Wendy's teasing and banter being a personal favorite. Although the mental image of the creepy Burger King guy now irrevocably morphed with Michael Scott will now haunt me forever. And I thank you for that. :)

I love the callback to the great dynamic between Dwight and Pam that developed at the end of last season, too, and of course Jim and Pam are great. I can't wait to see where this story goes!

I'm abusing the review function to ask a question. To preface: I am a total spoilerphobe. I avoid episode promos, and I'm not going to watch the latest S4 video by NBC. So, I don't want even the mildest spoilers: I know absolutely nothing about S4, and I want to keep it that way.
I've been burned before, with fic. I read a story and enjoy it, and then something happens in the show that I've already seen before. For me, it lessens my enjoyment (I know that lots of--most?--people feel differently, and of course that's fine). So, this is a very long-winded way of asking, before I read your story: to what extent does it contain/elaborate on/take its inspiration from spoilers?
You're one of my favorite authors, and I will be so frustrated if I have to wait several weeks before I can read your story, but I'd rather know up front than risk being spoiled for the show, even a little tiny bit.

Other than the fact that I'm assuming Jim and Pam are indeed dating (based on the fact he asked her out in The Job) - there is not a spoiler to be seen in this story. And I'd like to thank you for bringing it up...I will definitely edit my summary to let others know it is spoiler free.

You sneaky thing! This reads like a great ensemble episode - Dwight's attempting to be Pam's confederate, Michael as the Burger King (Wendy? Heee!), fun jeans, black jellybeans - god is truly in the details! This makes me excited to see some Jim/Michael (et. al.) interaction this season - so scant in S3, and I missed it almost as much as the outright JAM stuff; in many ways, that will signal Jim being back more than anything. And like the best ensemble episodes, this is served up with enough tasty JAM condiment to enhance the zestiness. (Still grinning, just imagining Michael in his cape.)

Oh my gosh...that has got to be one of the FUNNIEST things I've ever read. LOVED the Burger King (or is it Wendy?) part.
I really loved the "Michael will be here in 10 minutes" and Jim saying, "Then I've got 9 minutes and 30 seconds to talk with you." Pam + Jim = Jammy Love!
