You should really make this in to a full episode. Absolutely fantastic.

Author's Response: Wow, I don't know if I could do that to Jim for a full episode...lol...poor bastard... Thank you!

Oh dear lord, that poor man. You really know how to write and portray how people speak. You're brilliant at dialogue. Great chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you! I try really hard to make people sound like they are actually speaking to one another and not just saying stilted dialogue to one another. But with this show it's easier because their voices are already so well defined. Thanks again!

Wow! Very interesting. LOL! I love Katy, I'm glad you brought her back, awkward as it was. And Karen! Oh my goodness!

Author's Response: Yeah, poor Katy... she didn't know she was in the way of fate. I thought she should know by now... lol...

LOL! How is it that I didn't expect Karen to show up?!  As always, so funny and clever : )  The best thing about your cold openings is that I can always envision them happening...and boy would I love to see this one.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! And yeah, I'd LOVE to see Jim squirm through this one... How can I derive so much pleasure from watching our hero cringe like this? lol...

Honestly! Could you imagine! Holy hell, that would be.. haha.. That would be insane. And you're right, they probably wouldn't bring in all Jim's girls.. but.. the insane akwardness and "Ohmigod" tension ISS something they would do. They don't want to make it into a Soap Opera.. which I think this cold opening would so do.. I'm curious what would happen.. hahaha. Ohmigod. Hah.

Author's Response: LOL... it's a real cringer, ain't it? I told ya,I couldn't help myself...lol...

Ah, I miss the Christmas episode too. Well, I guess I can't miss what I never had *scowls darkly* Great cold opening!

Author's Response: Thanks! And I take very little solace in that thinking as well....

Let's start by stating the obvious:  you are a funny guy, kgreene, puns and all (would have been a good title, by the way).  Really enjoyed this--although it makes me melancholy, missing that holiday episode that never was.  WHEN this strike ends, soon I hope, we'd better get some major love from the writers to make up for the lack of Christmas merriment.

Author's Response: Yeah, really. Missing the Christmas episode really bummed me out. Hopefully soon we can all get our show back. That would be the best present off all. And thank you so much, I REALLY appreciate the very kind words...

BEST...CHAPTER...EVER!!!!!!!!! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you, thank you! I wanna try that again, write something a little more sexually suggestive between the two. Everyone likes that... ; ). Thanks again!

OMG, you know what the funniest part of this chapter is (other than the chapter itself, which is HILARIOUS) but I saw Batman Begins the other night, and I was like, woah, the Joker wasn't even in that movie! K, never mind me, it's like eleven o'clock, and I'm a little frazzled. I loved the line about Superman's planet shooting his parents XD.

Author's Response: Yeah, I was checking out Batman Begins the other night. I really like that movie. But I completely forgot that they mention Joe Chill in it. I just remembered him because I am a big comic book geek...lol...

I like the Dunder-Mifflin five minute version. I wasn't planning on seeing the movie, but after Dwight's lovely description, I think I want to now. Is that weird? Anyway, I'm glad you're back! I'm been craving one of your cold openings, and this was a great one!

Author's Response: lol... thanks! Wow, I never thought that Dwight's review would make someone go see Cloverfield. That's great! lol... and thanks. I hope to have more for you soon!

kgreene, you're back!  I've been missing these cold opens.  As always, loved it.  Glad you found something to inspire you to post : )

Author's Response: Thanks! Well, it's been a crazy last few months for me, and it's starting to settle down a bit. So I can get back to writing again. I missed it ( and you guys) too. Thanks again!

Teehee! Loved it! Welcome back, I hope there is more where that came from. I saw Cloverfield this weekend.. *shudder*.. but I really enjoy Dwight's take on it. Makes it seem less scary.

Author's Response: lol..yeah, I liked the movie... gave me a lot to think about this weekend, especially with me being a New Yorker. Thanks!

Keep your pimp hand STRONG.

I literally spit out sandwich all over my poor computer when I read this.  I can't stop laughing!

Author's Response: lol.. thanks so much! I'm glad you weren't eating soup. lol... I wish I could take credit for that but that's a phrase I've heard a few times before. It IS funny, though... thanks again!

Oh, Jesus, I've got tears coming out of my eyes. I can't wear mascara and read this shit. *Sigh.* It is a crime that you do not yet do this for a living.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you, Shass. Again, I wish. Between your fiction and your comments about mine, you make my day!

“Is Michael Scott gonna have to smack a bitch?”  I just wet my pants.  Keep 'em comin, K.  You just turned my strike-induced frown upside down : )

Author's Response: lol... thanks! Yeah, I'm bummed, too. All we have is each other, right now. But with all the great writers on this site, that's not bad at all.

Jim's good. Actually, you're good. Keep them coming!

Author's Response: Thanks! I've got a few more percolating... but I'm trying to work out the last act of Employee Withholding, which for some reason is proving to be very difficult. Thanks again!

I think my favorite thing about these is the fact that it's funny all the way through, but the end is almost always something that makes me laugh out loud. seriously?

"This board won't drive itself to New York" LOL

Author's Response: Hey, thank you! I REALLY try to make it that it isn't just a joke at the end. There has to be little throw away lines in it and little characater bits that will (hopefully) make people laugh. I'm really glad you like them. Again, you folks make my days better. Thanks again!

I absolutely agree with Shass, K.  It's talented writers like the two of you who make my work day infinitely more enjoyable.  The Strike has me bummed, too.  For what it's worth, I fired off two letters and an e-mail to the powers that be at NBC, etc. yesterday.  It's all very frustrating.  Thanks for another great installment.

Author's Response: That's great, Nanreg. I gotta do that. I signed a petition at the WGA site yesterday, but I have to do more. And thank you. You people make me feel so good about writing these things.
