Very funny. Dwight's analogy had me cracking up. It's good to see a solid representation of the Jim-Dwight dynamic. Jim was irritated by Dwight, but he didn't hate him, and he never wished genuine misery on him. Even back in Season 2, Jim changed from joking to real concern and urgency when Dwight had a concussion. When Jim saw that Dwight's pain was similar to his own over Pam, he had a real desire to help Dwight pull himself together, as that wonderful scene in the Money episodes demonstrates.
One small snag: 'Jim could see this is already going to go wonderfully.' Presumably you meant 'was going to go wonderfully'.
I enjoyed this story!

I think you did just fine with Dwight. If I had any teensy little nitpicks, it's that I can't really see Dwight calling Jim by his last name. But other than that, I think you did great, and this should totally happen on the show.
Author's Response: I didn't think so either, but he did actually call Jim by his last name in a recent ep deleted scene. :)

I thought you did a good job with Dwight's voice. He is tough to capture but that does seem like the kind of analogy he'd use. I like the idea that Pam helps bring out Jim's more compassionate side.

Oh, this was so great! Your Dwight is perfect, as are Jim and Pam. I can really see this scene perfectly and I love the similarities between Jim and Dwight's situations. I'd love to read more chapters about how Dwight puts Jim's advice into practice. Loved it.
