A wonderfully realistic look at Jim Halpert!

"Well, Kelly… and Michael… but Jim wasn’t sure they counted, since they quite possibly weren’t seeing the life they actually lived."

Awesome line. Really enjoyed this look into Jim's thoughts. Very insightful.

I really liked this.  Sometimes the best stories are not really stories in the traditional sense at all, but an insightful look into the mind and heart of a character.  I don't think you need to add anything more to this one, but I look forward to reading more of your writing in the future.  :-)

this was lovely! just very well put together. i especially like the line: I’m thankful for a loving family, freedom, a safe place to live… but I would be so thankful if I could just have Pam. it made me think that maybe he always wished for pam, when he blew on birthday candles or threw a coin into a fountain. i really can't picture jim actually doing those things, but it made me wonder nevertheless. great work, really.

Author's Response: Hmm, well I hadn't quite pictured him that way either. I'm not a big fan of woobie!Jim in general - well, maybe in small doses - but I more figured that on those days when we're supposed to sit around and think about how blessed we are, that he'd have a little trouble with it. Thanks, and I'm glad you liked it :)

It's nice - interesting.  I especially liked how he had to make sure his "Dammit, I'd never..."s stayed true.  It's neat to see how he's thinking about what he wants for himself, her, and them.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. I'm just trying to keep my brain occupied until our much-beloved show writers can come back and continue the story :)

Wow, healingmirth, this is really, really great! I lovethat you've probed inside Jim's head and set down some very real thoughts for him. I especially love that he thinks about what he and Pam could learn from each other, that's a great sentiment.
Well done!!

Author's Response: Thanks :) Once I got a little ways into this, I found myself writing like Pam had everything together and Jim was a complete disaster, instead of them being on a journey together, and I'm not sure how successfully I reined that in.

please, please continue this! I can totally see Jim thinking about this if the season ever starts back up again!

Author's Response: Here's hoping that the strike is resolved soon and no one is depending on me to plot out...anything. But thanks for the encouragement :)

This was really great

Jim has always seemed the type not to care but this shows that after he got Pam he started dreaming bigger

Author's Response: I agree that he had the slacker apathy for work covered, and I'm always curious about why people don't care. I'm enamored of the idea that dreaming about Pam was damming up his other hopes. *shrug* Thanks for reviewing :)
