"He didn't want to disappoint her; he didn't want her to realize that she was way out of his league."  Wow.  I did not expect that!  Don't we often feel this way?  Very apt.

Good story!  Will we see the tournament?  Creed and Meredith/Marybeth/Mwhatshername don't have much of a chance, do they? :)

This fic has so much...a fun little plot, great ensemble humor, cute little bits of characterization everywhere, nice jam moments but also hints of the struggles they have.  And of course next chapter I reckon we will get the high drama of athletic competition.  Outstanding work.

"Keith Urban.  Are you reading the Peoples I leave at your house?"

"No.  Are you reading the Sports Illustrateds I leave at yours?"

"No, but I know Tony Romo is dating Jessica Simpson."

"And having a rough last couple of games..."  Darryl trailed off."

I love how you've written Kelly & Darryl - especially her leaving the People magazines at his house - and him leaving the S.I. at hers.  They're both trying into fit into each others worlds.... although I thought Darryl's "I thought this was just about getting over that little dude." was sadly cute.

Almost forgot - I totally loved that Jim's mother was making Pam a stocking with paint brushes on it.  Such a sweet thing to do. I can't wait to read more.

Oooh, excellent!  A ping pong fic, at Christmas, no less.  And lots of juicy emsemble subplots to expand upon.  Love this.  Looking foward to more.  You and stablergirl need to write fics for each other more often!

You've written the ensemble so well!  Daryl & Kelly, especially!  And Toby as the referee.  Dawesome.

Oh, this is very intriguing! I think you've done a fantastic job of setting everything up so far. And might I especially commend you on your characterization of Kelly and Darryl? They're quickly becoming some of my favorite characters to write for, and I think you've given us a fascinating glimpse into Kelly's mind. (Which, let's face it-- I never thought there was all that much there to begin with!) I suppose I've always viewed Darryl and Kelly being a fairly temporary thing, but you give me reason to re-think that idea. Darryl is probably really good for her.

Also, a million Schrute bucks for you for linking to Wikipedia. :D So funny.

I think it's a fabulous start, and I will be eagerly following this ping pong tournament!

Oh, I like this.  I think it's my favorite so far of the holiday fics, and makes me feel a little better about not getting a Christmas episode this year.  It has great Jim/Pam moments and the ensemble interaction down pat.  I especially liked the Dwight/Andy ping pong exchange, and the title Michael chose for the charity event.  "(And Oscar)".  Ha!  Looking forward to an update. :)

Author's Response: Thank you 30%!  I was really nervous about posting this one...and truthfully I feel like I've gotten myself into it now.  I mean how do you write a 4 way conversation plus ping pong...  yikes.  I'm glad you are enjoying it.  Happy New Year!
