These are so well done. Your characterization of Pam is so real-- the emotions of all the different scenarios are spot-on. I'm sure that you have only good things ahead for the remaining night, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the chapters where things were still uncertain

This is beautifully sad - I love Pam trying to figure out what she means by "I can't."

What a wonderful view into how Pam would have felt that night. I love how "yes, of course" segues into "I can't" after looking at "Roy's sleeping bulk," like Roy is some sort of hulkish sleeping dragon. Love, love, love.
And then how she's trying to decide what "I can't" means. This is just wonderful, lis; thanks so much for this.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm so impressed with Pam's journey, but I think it definitely took a bunch of little steps and sleeples nights- you don't become Fancy or New without struggle. I wanted to show that. I'm so happy you're getting so much out of this, thank you!

Oh, Pam! I definitely think she would have been sleepless this night and replayed his confession and their kiss over and over again (just like most of us have done with our DVDs!). I love that you mention the temptation she felt and I absolutely love the last line.
Author's Response: Thank you! Of course she was tempted, but I think she had years of history and also a sense of what was "right" for an engaged woman at that point. She had to convince herself that being happy was also "right". Thank you- more to come!

okay, trust me, if i had just had that kiss, that moment with jim, my skin would still be tingling and i wouldn't be able to sleep. such an amazing heartbreaking moment that was.
she can't marry roy, thats what it means pam!
