"I love you, Pam," he said passionately. "Don't ever leave me."

"What? Why would I? What was that noise?"

"Dwight."

"Oh, my God." Pam looked at him, stricken. "Crying? About..."

"Yeah." He didn't wait for her answer, but gathered her up in his arms, kissing her mouth, her hair, anything he could reach.

She pushed him away, very gently. "Jim. Oh, Jim, I'm so sorry. All those years..."
...She came into his arms, her head under his chin, holding him close. They lay silently together in the darkness, his head stroking her hair over and over. They listened to the moaning sounds, saying nothing. The cocoon of sheets began to warm a little.

So good. Hands down my favorite post-Job fic. You managed to mix spot-on humor with moments of real tenderness. Well done.

Mmmm, loved it! Such a great addition to an already wonderfully JAMMY episode. You brought both humor (I love how you write Dwight!) and solemnity to this story. Nicely done!

a very nice scenario for what might have happened that night.  I'm guessing Jim and Pam slept pretty well that following night.  ;)

This captures the flavor of one of my fave episodes. Always a big fan of Jim/Dwight (loved Jim's horror at knowing so much about him, ha!) and the Jim/Pam parts were warm and sweet without putting me into a beet-sugar induced coma (her kissing him was like a gift from the universe - bet that's just how he felt.) And this line made me laugh: Shoveling shit was harder than it looked. Nice balance of sweet and funny with a side of Mose ;-)

Okay, so this was super great.  Loved the contrast of their warmth and sweetness with the surreal (and funny)creepiness of their surroundings.  Particularly loved Jim being moved by Dwight's despair just as he was on the episode, only here Pam knows what its about.  Great job.

This was so good!  Funny and tragic (seeing Mose in the outhouse) and so romantic! I love how you filled in between the scenes we saw on the show, especially Jim returning to the room after seeing how desperately sad Dwight was and remembering how he had felt. That was my favorite part.

Genius! Wonderfully in character and beautifully written. And Dwight bugging Jim is ALWAYS fun to read. I was woken by my neighbours drilling early this morning so I feel Jim's pain!

Oh NEJ, anyone who wants to expand on the visit to Schrute Farms wins in my book.  This was just lovely, both funny and romantic, with great dialogue.  I just loved it and I'm reccing it now.  Thanks for the smiles!

I haven't read Jam in *months*, but I just can't resist your writing, NEJ. This was, as usual, funny and insightful, with just enough creepyness. And I'm having a season 4 (so far) marathon tomorrow night, so now this quirky event will be fresh in my mind.
