One of the things I'm really enjoying about writing this story is that I've been trying to figure out why Pam would've stayed with Roy for so long, and I think this is probably one of the bigger reasons. I just have this idea that when they started dating in high school Pam was completely in awe of Roy and incredulous that he'd picked her. And it's completely possible that some jealous cheerleader actually told Pam that Roy could do way better. So I think some of that awe and incredulity was probably still lingering in her mind throughout their relationship.
