This line is just perfect: "The loneliness had made for a tough adjustment and what had surprised her most was missing Roy very little and missing Jim completely and utterly."

This was a beauty, EL.  I just love your style of writing.  Two of my favorites from this:

1.  Talking about Karen was not as fun, but she stayed positive while asserting her heterosexuality; and,

2.  Positive. Content. Breathe in, out. She smiled. The day was ending and she had big weekend plans: painting and maybe using that vibrator her sister had purchased for her as a joke.

I felt both had the perfect combo of humor and melancholy.

Great job.

Author's Response: thank you so much! i too loved these lines.  #1 made me feel like a clever wordsmith when i banged it out and #2 i loved b/c i felt like it was a mantra.  maybe something she'd used before during what turned out to be a really crappy year for her (that got better real quick though!).  thank you for your feedback, it's always so good to hear from you.

I really liked this :) Not to mention your K's Choice reference. When I read the title, that song automatically started playing in my head ;)

Author's Response: thanks!  i think they're song, at least in mood, fits this moment for pam really well.  and ta-daa!  thanks for the feedback.

great job of capturing pam's thoughts!

Author's Response: oh thanks! i know it's cliche, and saying it's cliche is cliche :)  but i really love the job.  i could write about it from 100 angles - as could we all i suppose!

I loved reading all the little details filling in the cracks of that day, what she was really thinking, and you did a wonderful job of keeping in in-character. Great job!

Author's Response: oh man, thanks bebitched! i think there's so much under the surface that we didn't see.  there were a few facial expressions here and there, but pam spent most of the day (well i guess two days) doing talking heads and performing for the camera.  the interior was really mysterious to me... thank you for the feedback!
