I needed some good old-fashioned angst this morning. I think it's a great idea for a story. These two obviously don't do well talking in person, so I'm anxious to see what they're able to convey in letters. Hopefully they'll both be able to read between the lines.
Author's Response: Thank you. :) I tried hard with the letters (these two chapters and others as well) for certain spots to have the subtext. Whether Jim or Pam chooses to figure out what the other really means is another story.

This is a really great idea for a fanfic, carbondalien. Of course, it's all about the writing, and you are clearly great at what you do. Keep up the good work. Jim totally writes letters like guys would. You could tell that Jim was trying not to say too much, or reveal too much in that first letter. He didn't want to put his heart on his sleeve for fear of outing himself emotionally. I liked that touch. Well done.
Author's Response: Wow. Thank you very much. Jim's letters are hard to write because you know he just wants to write "OMGZ I LUVS YOO!" (well, sort of...) but he's pretty sure what kind of response he'd get to something like that, so he holds back. It's more about being subtle with him while on the other side Pam likes to be cheery and pretend no tension exists even though she certainly knows better.

Author's Response: Haha, bossy can be good. More will be coming soon. I already have a few chapters written, but it's the editing and the talking to myself saying "I know you can find another way to say that. A way that's better!" Thanks for reviewing. :)

The way you had him cross out what he really wanted to say almost made me cry... I will sit here and twiddle my thumbs until the next chapter. =]
Author's Response: Thank you. :) As I was writing the letter, there were parts that I was editing out and I was just like, "Wait. Jim would probably crossing out this stuff, too."
