I love this concept. So true to my own early 2000s experience and to the characters.

The only thing I don't like is that the new chapters of the fic end so fast! But it's really beautiful in its simplicity...thank you for that :)

Author's Response:

Hehe, short chapters, but glad you are enjoying them!

Thanks!

OK, I feel like I should write something completely stream-of-consciousness here and talk about what I had for lunch. However, I will instead say that I love the feeling of this, think that the idea of using PS is brilliant, and really love getting to leave YOU some good feedback. Yay, fic! Nicely done!

Author's Response:

Okay, I seriously couldn't stop smiling and giggling when I got this review, so I think you are good. I am so glad you like it and the idea of it. It totally just came to me randomly, and it just felt so Pam and Jim, and so, yeah, I'm excited!

I'm so glad you liked it and took the time to review. And, just for added bonus, I will say I should have it updated tomorrow. Um, because, I will. I say so.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, I'm glad you are enjoying it. Will update soon, I promise!

I can't believe all the postcard images you are making - they are awesome. Or are they real PS cards? Or both? Anyway, Jim's reply is PERFECT. More! more! I'm greedy.

Author's Response:

Haha, Okay, yeah, I guess I should clarify (oops, not everyone can read my brain) I made Pam's and Jim's postcards. So only the one about the wedding and the its not. The rest are real PS cards, from the website or book.

I'm so glad Jim's reply worked. I really did spend a day on it (with my beta) figuring out the logistics of both Pam and Jim's cards!

And hey, this is the good kind of greedy. I will update soon!

This is such an amazing story.  Few words pack alot of punch.  Fantastic.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. Comments like this make up for the comments were its like "make the chapters longer" :) Thanks again!

I totally remembered the sickness postcard, but I never saw that wedding postcard. What a refreshingly new and interesting idea! :)

Author's Response:

Hehe, well, the wedding postcard was one I made myself, so, that would be why you don't recognize it. But, I'm glad it looked realistic enough.

So glad you are enjoying this new take on post-casino night!

This is such an interesting approach to a fic. Thank gosh for something new! I like this idea and can't wait for more.

So glad you are nejoying this and that it seems new. So many post Casino Nights, and so this is my interpretation (wish!)

Thanks for the review

This is great. I could see Jim reading post secret as something to do to pass the time while he was at work with no Pam to keep him company.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm glad that seems reasonable, because I mostly know girls who read PostSecret, so the fact that Jim reading it is believable, I like :)

I love PostSecret. My friend and I spend one afternoon in a bookstore reading through all of his books. The secrets are so touching. I love that you have incorporated the two so perfectly. Fantastic chapter.

Author's Response: I love looking through the books. I spent a lo of time looking throuh them for this story and they are so mesmermizing. I'm glad you like the way the secrets are being encorporated.
Thaks for the review

Oooh, chilling.  I really like it.  Very mature story, Miss Halpert.

I've heard about that site but I haven't spent any time checking it out.  Maybe I'll have to now!

Author's Response:

A bit different than my usual fluff (but, yeah, I think it will still end happy!)

I am a huge fan of postsecret, and I highly recommend it. You do sort of get drawn into these strangers lives, and then, usually at least one postcard a week, I really connect with it, like, it could be a secret of mine I have, or like Jim, it just really moved me or something.

Great fic! I can't believe I didn't see it coming, but I loved the ending all the same.

Author's Response: I'm so glad that you were surprised! That was the first thing - and most important thing - to this story. I honestly spent hours trying to think of what the secret should say, what the picture should be, even the font I should use. It got changed at least 10 times. So that was really important to me!

Yay! A fic about postsecret! I always thought postsecret would be something Jim and Pam would like =] I can totally imagine Jim buying Pam one of the books and then them flipping through it together and trading secrets and stuff. I really like it. I've saved like every single secret for over two years to my computer, so I'm going to look through them again and find some that could relate to Jim/Pam.
I can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

It does seem like something they would both like, so I am glad it does to you also! Me and my friend did something similar - we look hrough the books and talk about all he secrets, what we think he person is like that wrote it, what we thought happened aferwards. So many of the times I want to say "Thats my secret also" but I'm still scared to do that with my friend.

I've got a ton of secrets saved on my computer also. Every week I save a couple that mean a lot to me, either because they are my secret also, or because I can relate to them in some way, or they mean something special. And as I was writing this story - I realized how many can relate to Jim/Pam!

OK so I remember first reading about PostSecret a couple of years ago in the New York Times or something, so I went to the website, and that postcard was there (the disease one). And I thought it was the most powerful thing I had ever seen, and I still do, and I think about it whenever I see or somebody mentions PostSecret. It has always been my favorite one for some reason, and I can't thank you enough for putting up a link to it because I hadn't seen it for several years despite thinking of it often. I can't believe you chose that secret to move Jim too.

So that probably was a lot of unnecessary personal story-telling, but I just wanted share my excitement! Besides that, I like the story so far, and I can't wait to see where you take it!

Author's Response:

Wow. I read this last night, and it honestly moved me so much I couldn't respond just then. I can't believe the coincidence. I was looking for a secret to try to explain why Jim was so connected with the site, and I looked through all the secrets I have saved, then I started flipping through the book. And that one just jumped out as it. I wasn't sure why, but it seemed right. I can't believe that it was the same one that you felt connected with, and its so exciting to learn that that meant a lot to you!

I should have another chapter posted soon, so I hope you'll check it out!

Totally cool idea!  I'm looking forward to more of Pam's creations!  (Did you really find the cancelled wedding postcard on this site?)

Author's Response: That one I made myself. But the sickness one (and ones in later chapters) are all from the books or site.

This is very interesting to me.  I never heard of a website like this.  Can't wait for more.

You totally should visit the website. I've been a fan for years, and its so interesting, and just captivates you.

I should have more up in a few minutes.

Great idea for a fic, Emily. That website always gives me chills whenever I look at it, and I find that I can't read it for very long without feeling too much like I'm prying somewhere I'm not supposed to be.

Should be very interesting to see where you go with all this.

Author's Response:

I love that site and have sent in a few secrets (and one was published!) and its such an interesting idea. I feel so connected with some of the complete strangers on that site.

I'm really excited about this idea, so glad others are enjoying it!

I'm intrigued! Very interesting...can't wait to see where you're going with this. And one little tiny spelling thing; I'm guessing you meant "farther away than ever" instead of "father." Great job!

Author's Response:

Oops! Thanks for catching that. Read it a thousand times and never noticed it.

I've got the next chapter almost ready, so I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Great beginning. I think it will be interesting to see how they communicate w/ the postcards.

Author's Response: The postcards definitely play a role. And I kind of had a lot of fun making some (Pam, Jims) and finding others that relate to the story!

wow. Did you really find that on the internet? Too perfect. This will be good i can tell

Author's Response: Pam's postcard I made, but the postcard Jim was talking about was from the PostSecret book. There will be other postcards that are on the internet in later chapters.
