This is very interesting. I'm a huge fan of postsecret. I like finding ones that sound like something I could have sent in. I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response:

Yay for fellow PS fans. Its such a great website.

I have a folder of 200-300 postcards that I've saved because I can relate. So many of them I could have sent in also!

Thanks for the quick update. I think you captured Pam's sadness and frustration wonderfullyl. I have this feeling this going to be a lovely heartbreaking story.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much. I'm glad Pam seemed realistic, its hard getting into that mindset (and rather sad).

Thanks again!

Still think this is an outstanding premise.  I like this chapter very much, too!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the repeat review. I'm glad you are still enjoying it. Means a lot!

wow. I like this premise. Totally different from most fic out there. Looking forward to reading what you write.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like this and think its unique. With all the JAM stories, you are always bound to repeat an idea, but every author has their own interpretation. So although there are plenty of Post Casino Night stories, this is the first one I've heard of with PostSecret.

Thanks for the review, and I hope you enjoy the rest of he story!

The more she said it though, the less it seemed true.

Love it!  EH ftw again ;)  Even though I know what's going on... it' still exciting to read again. The mark of your awesomeness.  And that secret is so good. So.... haunting??  Dunno. Still gives me chills.

On that note - you are awesome blossom.  Extra awesome with the upcoming chapters too ;)

Author's Response:

I just can't imagine Pam's reaction to seeing that secret. I mean, wow. It just would be chilling/haunting/everything. I mean, just her in that position. Its so good.

Happy to see such a quick update!

Author's Response:

Haha! I hope it was a good update.

I was waiting until I basically have everything done before I posted anything, so the updates should be coming pretty quickly (thats the plan at least!)

Oooh, chilling.  I really like it.  Very mature story, Miss Halpert.

I've heard about that site but I haven't spent any time checking it out.  Maybe I'll have to now!

Author's Response:

A bit different than my usual fluff (but, yeah, I think it will still end happy!)

I am a huge fan of postsecret, and I highly recommend it. You do sort of get drawn into these strangers lives, and then, usually at least one postcard a week, I really connect with it, like, it could be a secret of mine I have, or like Jim, it just really moved me or something.

Great fic! I can't believe I didn't see it coming, but I loved the ending all the same.

Author's Response: I'm so glad that you were surprised! That was the first thing - and most important thing - to this story. I honestly spent hours trying to think of what the secret should say, what the picture should be, even the font I should use. It got changed at least 10 times. So that was really important to me!

Yay! A fic about postsecret! I always thought postsecret would be something Jim and Pam would like =] I can totally imagine Jim buying Pam one of the books and then them flipping through it together and trading secrets and stuff. I really like it. I've saved like every single secret for over two years to my computer, so I'm going to look through them again and find some that could relate to Jim/Pam.
I can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

It does seem like something they would both like, so I am glad it does to you also! Me and my friend did something similar - we look hrough the books and talk about all he secrets, what we think he person is like that wrote it, what we thought happened aferwards. So many of the times I want to say "Thats my secret also" but I'm still scared to do that with my friend.

I've got a ton of secrets saved on my computer also. Every week I save a couple that mean a lot to me, either because they are my secret also, or because I can relate to them in some way, or they mean something special. And as I was writing this story - I realized how many can relate to Jim/Pam!

OK so I remember first reading about PostSecret a couple of years ago in the New York Times or something, so I went to the website, and that postcard was there (the disease one). And I thought it was the most powerful thing I had ever seen, and I still do, and I think about it whenever I see or somebody mentions PostSecret. It has always been my favorite one for some reason, and I can't thank you enough for putting up a link to it because I hadn't seen it for several years despite thinking of it often. I can't believe you chose that secret to move Jim too.

So that probably was a lot of unnecessary personal story-telling, but I just wanted share my excitement! Besides that, I like the story so far, and I can't wait to see where you take it!

Author's Response:

Wow. I read this last night, and it honestly moved me so much I couldn't respond just then. I can't believe the coincidence. I was looking for a secret to try to explain why Jim was so connected with the site, and I looked through all the secrets I have saved, then I started flipping through the book. And that one just jumped out as it. I wasn't sure why, but it seemed right. I can't believe that it was the same one that you felt connected with, and its so exciting to learn that that meant a lot to you!

I should have another chapter posted soon, so I hope you'll check it out!

Totally cool idea!  I'm looking forward to more of Pam's creations!  (Did you really find the cancelled wedding postcard on this site?)

Author's Response: That one I made myself. But the sickness one (and ones in later chapters) are all from the books or site.

This is very interesting to me.  I never heard of a website like this.  Can't wait for more.

You totally should visit the website. I've been a fan for years, and its so interesting, and just captivates you.

I should have more up in a few minutes.

Great idea for a fic, Emily. That website always gives me chills whenever I look at it, and I find that I can't read it for very long without feeling too much like I'm prying somewhere I'm not supposed to be.

Should be very interesting to see where you go with all this.

Author's Response:

I love that site and have sent in a few secrets (and one was published!) and its such an interesting idea. I feel so connected with some of the complete strangers on that site.

I'm really excited about this idea, so glad others are enjoying it!

I'm intrigued! Very interesting...can't wait to see where you're going with this. And one little tiny spelling thing; I'm guessing you meant "farther away than ever" instead of "father." Great job!

Author's Response:

Oops! Thanks for catching that. Read it a thousand times and never noticed it.

I've got the next chapter almost ready, so I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Great beginning. I think it will be interesting to see how they communicate w/ the postcards.

Author's Response: The postcards definitely play a role. And I kind of had a lot of fun making some (Pam, Jims) and finding others that relate to the story!

wow. Did you really find that on the internet? Too perfect. This will be good i can tell

Author's Response: Pam's postcard I made, but the postcard Jim was talking about was from the PostSecret book. There will be other postcards that are on the internet in later chapters.

Okay I love this premise.  I've looked at that website on more than one occasion.  This is such a cool idea - I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm kind of addicted to that site (it will probably become more and more obvious as the chapters continue) so PostSecret and Jim/Pam... kind of awesome in my book.

Glad you're enjoying!

YAY for everything PS, J/P related!! :D

You, my dear, are the awesome one, not me.  This premise (and upcoming chapters) rock my world.  And socks while we're at it (despite the lack of them... since it's so hot here)  I mean Jim/Pam writing Secrets? Gah is the word that describes me right now.  Gah.  :)

Will be sending you more stuff shortly!!  So be prepared missy!  Also, I've been spending waaaay too much time on YouTube.... and nanreg reminded me that AAR had their video about PS!!  So I mean I got sucked into all greatness of YouTube.

OK I'm making no sense: LONNG story short: You + this story = MBJ dying.

Superbeta, out!

Author's Response:

There is something I want to tell you that really shouldn't be said on the interwebs. So use your ESPN, kk.

And trust me, this chapter and more are better because of you, so you rock also. And I am barefoot, so its obvious you rocked my socks off.

Yeah, that AAR video they contacted Frank Warren asked for permission, so they used some secrets. Is pretty awesome.

This makes me think of a video from a while back--All American Rejects maybe?  I like the premise--very intriguing.

Author's Response:

Dirty Little Secret by All American Rejects! Yep, great song. They actually contaced Frank Warren about using PostSecret and some of the postcards, and so, it happened. Yeah, Frank Warren came to my school once, was totally awesome.
