Poor Pam.  So heartbreaking (although it's easier to read knowing that she is now so very happy).

Standouts for me:

...like she's wrapped in a cloud that's had the fluff beaten out of it.  Great imagery.

And this:  They fall like lonely, fat soldiers and surrender without regard onto the front of the wedding dress.

Really enjoying this, carbondalien, angst and all.

Author's Response: Yeah, I might do well to just rename it The Den of Angst, haha. I'm happy that you're enjoying it. :)

Very interesting idea, and I really like Dorothy Parker. The scene you described fits the poem to a "t".

I'm very interested to see what other poems/stories you will do.

Author's Response: I've been reading through my copy of The Portable Dorothy Parker and it's been the only thing that's given me any inspiration. I'm sure as I read through more poems, more things will come along. Glad you liked it. :)

Love the poem, and I think it's perfectly suited to this situation.  Great description of a seemingly ordinary night chez Karen.  I can picture her and Jim hanging out and enjoying each other's company.  She's actually likeable here.  Well, that was kind of mean of me.  She's a swell gal.  I just like Pam better ; )  Looking forward to reading more of these as you're inspired, carbondalien.

Author's Response: My main problem with Karen was that we never really found out who she was. I don't hate her, but I don't really feel much for her at all - there just wasn't enough behind her. I'll probably revisit her character once or twice more in this because some more poems remind me of where Karen might be right now in her life. But anywho, I'm glad you're liking this. :)
