i like it, though, the thought of making her a battered woman kind of makes me go 'ehhh. :/' i don't like thinking of roy as a the bad guy, or thinking karen is the bad girl, like the villians in their love lifes. if pam and jim couldn't just come to their senses and get together, then it's their own fault. pam could have called him, jim could have gone back after she called off the wedding (in the show.)
but i like AU things and taking a new view on something. keep going. if everyone else hates it, you'll have one fan. i do like jim coming to pam's rescue, or being protective. kuddos for starting it :D
Author's Response: Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the battered woman scenario, so I'll keep that part short. I can't promise that Roy won't come back looking like a bad guy, but a lot of what you're looking for is coming in the second chapter :)

I've never been a huge fan of stories where Roy is violent towards Pam, but this fic works for me. I really liked it being set in S3, since it means Jim's with Karen and is therefore less present in Pam's life. I'd love to see where you take this. :)
