Ooh, the angst of the Negotiation... along with this. Wow.

"“I wish you’d come back.” She says it in a quiet and assured tone as her palm begins to smooth out his sweater. Her eyes flicker up and he can’t help but think, as he has a thousand and one times before, that this could’ve been so easy if only she had let it."

::shivers:: Hope to hear from you again soon.

Um, okay. I loved these two parts on Cocktails so much and now they're going to have a drink together? You are amazing, please make more of this story right now.

Some very cool people told me to read this story... and WOW. I love it. The tone, the characterization, the dialogue. You are doing a great job. I love how the angst is filled w/ just a little bit of hope.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I'm glad anyone's reading it, but I had no idea I was being recommended by cool people! Made my night. :D

Another wonderful chapter. You've got such a great bantery dynamic going between Jim and Pam. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Banter is one of the funnest things to write, honestly. ESPECIALLY between two characters who have such great senses of humor. Thank you for reviewing, I hope I don't disappoint!

You are doing such an amazing job .. at killing me slowly. I love that Pam has already made her confession and instead of that fixing everything instantly like other fics, you're slowly giving her a little edge with each chapter. She's a little bit more forward in each one. It's great, and your characterizations feel like they're lifted from the script. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Ooops! Killing you was not my intention! The fanfic world needs you, Jim and Pam need you! ;D Thank you very much, I'm pleased with how things are going so far in the story. I don't want to force them into happening; the show was agonizing and made us wait, so I figure I can hop on that wagon, too. Thanks again for your feedback, it's much appreciated!!

I don't read much fanfic lately, but the pull of S3 angst is strong with me. I truly am enjoying this piece -- you really capture Jim and Pam so well. I like little things like this:

Pam appreciates his indirectness. She always has.

This was so true of them back then, wasn't it?

Great job so far! Keep it up!

Author's Response: Sometimes it almost seemed like their friednship would have broken a loooong time ago, had Jim not supplied the much needed (as percieved by Pam) indirectness and hedging around topics. Kind of frustrating to watch, but damn was it good TV. ;) Thanks so much for reviewing!!

Oh wow, I really enjoyed this. I love the way you've spread the angst out across four longish chapters without having it go stale. I can't wait for the happy end chapter but at the same time I want it to keep going! Very much looking forward to the next chapter.
I'm new to Office fic so have had it easy, reading all the completed chapter stories from the past few years. This is the first time I've had to wait for the next chapter to be written. So I'm extra excited about chapter 5. :)

Author's Response: Don't you hate it when angst goes stale? Sometimes I worry about going overboard, because there's only so much even *I* can take. I don't want Jim/Pam to come across like Angel/Buffy or some other desperate star-crossed romance like that. So I'm pleased that it doesn't seem that way!

I am also relatively new to the Office fiction world, and now that I'm starting to find pieces that aren't updated frequently, it hurts my heart a little. But I'll try to get my next chapter out ASAP. Thanks again for reviewing! :)

Wow, Mel, I'm glad I caught this.  I really appreciate your writing style.  This story is riveting.  I hope you can update again soon.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm about to launch into writing the third chapter as soon as I finish typing this. :) I'm glad you're liking it so far!

That was AMAZING. I love me some season 2/3 angst. Was beautifully written, and I really hope you continue this and make it in to a series :)

Author's Response: I'm gonna try to make it into a series! We'll see how it goes, I've got it planned up a little. Thank you so, so much for reviewing. :D

This is really great! I always wanted Jim to run after her when he caught her staring at him - so this made my day - and I can picture this conversation happening exactly like this. Of course, that would mean we wouldn't have the rest of Season 3, but that's ok too. You're really capturing their essence here. Keep going please!!!

Author's Response: RIGHT?! That's the whole reason I started this fic, I saw the episode on TV recently and just had to write up how I would've loved to see it go. Don't get me wrong, I love how season 3 ends, but Jim's comment of "if I thought Pam might be interested..." just left me aching. ;) Thanks for reviewing!!

Spectacular. This is just spectacular. Honestly, there were parts reading this where I felt my breath catch in my throat. I absolutely adore everything about how you've set this up - especially the tense moments before Pam starts to apologize -- you have made both Jim and Pam very believable and very realistic while also keeping us on our toes. Can't wait for more!!!

Author's Response: Awww, thank you very, very much. I'm so glad I'm doing this right. I love the angst, and it's so delicious and easy to work with in season 3, but I don't wanna overplay it, you know? So knowing I get those tense moments right is awesome. Thank you so much for reviewing! :D

Oh my goody goody two shoes, missy - keep typing. Loved this, and that's all I've git to say to you!

Author's Response: Haha, well thank you! I will keep typing as long as the ideas keep flowing! And, of course, if I'm doing it right. ;)
