"While you were in those final minutes of labor and I was doing...well nothing" - while this is very funny, let me speak up in favor of the Dads, who are normally holding a foot or a knee in those final minutes of labor. Actually, a really important job, as the moms are trying to push out a bowling ball, Dads (and another assistant on the other side) are providing leverage. That's what my husband was doing anyway, and thank goodness for him. But the line was very, very funny.
This is all so extremely good, I can't even tell you. Probably this chapter, the No-Jill list, and the letters to Jill are my favorite chapters. I really like how you put little things from the other chapters into this one. You've created such a nice little place for us here.
Thank you for the Mother's Day gift and wishes. I was thinking this morning that I should go over to TWoP and ask for a fic about Mother's Day, and here this is!

So many great little moments in this chapter! It's fabulous how you referenced other chapters in the entries. And it sounds so very Jim. Great voice in the entries.
This was so Jim: "Yesterday I tried to entertain Jill with my watch." Hee.
Love the redacted breastfeeding entry, the pregnancy scare entry, all the entries referring to sex--because, yay, sex!
Great chapter. This story is da bomb.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. My favorite lines are easily: "Stop snorting cocaine and read to your child once in awhile ok? Jeez. So tired of this." and "Let's make out." I love all your little lines for Jim to use in place of "sincerely." I think you're doing a fine job here and, frankly, you should fastforward a year or two so they can have another baby and start the story all over again!

But I think I will have to start thinking soon about what else I can write about their little family...what moment in time, etc. SO glad to hear what your favorite lines are - I LOVE when people tell me exactly what parts they dug. This chapter just took this story across the line from great to phenomenal. This IS Jim as Dad (and what sweeter thought is there?) If I started quoting lines, my review would be as long as the story. And, were you a fly on the wall when I had my first? Because you nail every watershed moment of that time...just a joy.

Loved it, as always. Brilliant. It's so funny, I thought the breast milk thing was over the top and then I saw that he redacted it...so clever. How you do this without hitting false notes is a wonder. Great stuff.
