She knew it shouldn't matter to her whether Jim liked her or not. She was engaged, so there was no way anything could happen. But that didn't mean she didn't think about it every now and then.

Eventually there came a day when she knew she'd have to give up thinking about it, or she would make herself crazy. Whether or not she liked him, or he liked her. None of it made any difference really.

For her own sake it was better to stop thinking and let things just be.

But ignoring it only seemed to make it worse.
