Late to the party - I just read this as the story of the moment. It's quite lovely! Angsty (my favorite) and a very plausible transition from no communication to intimacy for J&P. Thanks for a great read!
Author's Response: Glad you thought the story arc worked here - and so nice to see this one still being read! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing miss anne eliot!

I love this story! You write J&P very well, but I am very struck by your M&S. The season 6 vibe is spot on. And your writing is beautiful - The passages above are lyrical. I look forward to each installment and enjoy it more with each chapter. (Your style seems familiar; I'm guessing I might know you from another incarnation in XF fandom? In another incarnation, I'm a scullyfic/emuse member.) Anyway, the dinner party promise is tantalizing and I look forward to angst, insight and amusement!

It can stretch on ad infinitem in my view! Another great chapter full of unexpected actions and insights and totally in character. After reading this P&J reconciliation, I cannot wait for the M&S!
He would close his eyes and remember their time apart, concentrating on it, trying to feel it. Just when he started to connect with the empty feeling, he would open his eyes and look at her sleeping beside him, and slide close enough to her so he could feel her breath, and feel nothing less than a sort of joy.

I really enjoyed this piece. It's very poignant and true to character. I especially love the title - I have fond childhood memories of that song!
Author's Response: It's a great song, isn't it? Thanks for the review!

Wow - I'm all choked up now and unexpectedly teary. That was very evocative!
Author's Response: Thanks! I don\'t usually try for the really tear-jerking stuff, but this one just came to me and I couldn\'t help myself. So glad you liked it!
The first week is the longest. A visit.

Another beautiful story! Your description of NYC in the summer brought all my years there back to me quite vividly. (That's one of the few things I don't miss!) This story is of my favorite variety - requited angst. Your portrayals of Jim and Pam are so nuanced; I particularly liked Jim's struggles with himself about boundaries and Pam's continuing growth as she recognizes Jim's support. The detail about the ring was surprising and very moving. Thanks for a great read to start my day!
Author's Response: So tickled that NY-ers are feeling the city in this - did not expect that [/pam]. Also, really appreciate your comments about Jim respecting (not appropriating) Pam's experience, despite how absorbed they are in each other, yet how Jim's encouragement effects her...exactly what I hoped would come across. And I'll take any review that uses the terms 'nuanced,' 'surprising' and 'moving' - some of my personal faves ;-) Thanks so very much, miss anne eliot (can I call you anne?)

Date: June 09, 2008 Title: Chapter 1: if love remains
I got it! Also, I am a city-loving girl who was proposed to by a country-loving guy. And later found out I am allegic smelling hay!
Yeah for the realistic approach to the money situation; I'm curious as to how (or if) the writers are going to address it.
Author's Response: I am pleased and impressed to find that the theme song of Green Acres is, apparently, well known despite the fact that it\'s a pretty old show. :) I have my doubts about whether the show will address it at all, to be honest. Thanks for reading!

As one of your other commenters noted, some folks only read when a story's completed - and I am one (burned too many times before!) Anyway, I really enjoyed this, though I have to admit to being a bit frightened by the Disney juggernaut described here. The story was sometimes sweet, sometimes cringe-worthy and very amusing, all the characterizations were spot-on, and it was clearly a labor of love!
But baby I won't be there to catch you when you fall. 'Cause I'm always your last call...

I really enjoyed your story. The voice was very clear and authentic, very Pam. I hope we see more from you!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear someone say I've captured the characters' voice.
