I pretty much always thought Office Olympics was an awesome episode, but I agree that The Job added that little extra specialness to it. And Ryan is SO in trouble with the International Office Olympic Commission! But at least Jim sticks to the rules :)

Author's Response: Yeah, the IOOC doesn't care much for that Ryan character. Maybe Kelly can team up with them for her revenge! Thanks for commenting.

Yay to the reference to Dwight's weapons! Heh. And I love that they were honest and understanding in working out their dispute, and that Jim turned it around into light-hearted joking :)

Author's Response: It always kind of bothered my how they ended things in that episode, but I would think Jim would do something like that, not dwell and try to make a joke.

Heh, cute. And I think you're onto something with Dwight being a grownup Napoleon! I totally see it. And I loved Jim trying to throw Pam off her game in the last chapter, hee!

Author's Response:

I'm a little in love with the part where Jim was trying to throw off Pam's game as well :-)

Aw, Pam noticed/was looking for the card! And they played minigolf together! So cute.

Author's Response: I figured if she opened the box, she saw the card. Right? I'm going to guess Michael took the crew mini-golfing for some sort of team-building, and as per usual it went totally wrong.

You make me go "awwww!" with every single chapter! I'm starting to feel repetitive and redundant, but: the way she invited him over to her desk? Awwwww!

Author's Response: Good, aww-ing is very good, I love the aww-ing

Them making that deal after B&G was very sweet. I love that she's realistic about the fact that she's been putting off what she really wants to do, and so has he. And Jim getting her a late Valentine's card! Aw :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Pam was just scrambling for an excuse and being defensive when she saids she's fine with her choices. As for the card, I wasn't sure because the writers made a point of have Jim not "save the day" for Pam, but I also can't see him being able to forget that sad face.

Ooh, an angsty one. And I don't actually find this conversation particularly unlikely. That would be a *very* big coincidence if it was just a coincidence, and it would be a crappy thing for him to do if he actually were just a friend and his mind slipped on what should supposedly be the biggest day of his friend's life. I think something like that would cause Pam to be hurt enough to find out why he would do that, but her backing down after his feeble excuse is very in character for Pam as well.

Author's Response: Thank you, you're comments always make me feel good for some reason, you explain things much better than I do.

Aw, that episode always makes me so sad for Michael! But it was a fun way for Jim to switch topics from that awkward date-talk (and I also agree that it was Brenda). And, come on, Pam - you see that he's great with kids - isn't that a good quality to look for in a partner?

Author's Response: Yeah, really, the good with kids things is just the icing on the delicious Jim-cake :-P

HA! That was awesome. Best non-use of words ever. Of course Jim would be the master of choosing the appropriate smilies.

Awww, poor Pam. At the same time, it's nice to see Pam opening up. I feel like for a while (a long while... like, till Beach Games) the Pam we saw on screen was, while obviously smitten, still trying to play off the "it's fine, we're friends, so what if he's too busy for coffee" outward persona, so it's nice to see her being a little more honest with her feelings, admitting that she was hoping for something and was disappointed that he was seeing someone. As much as I'll enjoy seeing Jim/Pam interactions again, I hope you have Pam talking to her mom sometimes still too, because I like seeing what comes out with someone she feels comfortable talking to more openly.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think that's the advantage of having both of them talking to outside parties, we can see them reveal their true feelings a bit . . Thanks for reviewing!

Aww, I love them talking about the teapot! Totally cute.

Ohh, these last two chapters feel so sad and real. Pam just being so... resigned to her fate, and her mom not knowing what to say to make her see... And Jim's sister calling him out on his odd behavior since Stamford, YES! This could be what pushes him along to the "I feel like I've never really...come back" realization.

Oh, I love that you have both sides here - you've done so well with both of them. They both just seem so down and ready to give up, and I love that her mom and his sister are so realistic, encouraging, and seem to be much more in tune with what's going on here than either of the people involved. I especially love Larissa's advice about looking out for Pam expressing her feelings because it'll probably be subtle - when we all know by now that while that was probably true at the time of Negotiation, her declaration at beach games was hard to miss, and coming from a much braver Pam!

Awww, giggly Pam! This is such a wonderful conclusion. I'm glad to see Jim admitting how eager he was to get back :)

And I didn't get around to reviewing the last few chapters, but they were all awesome too. I've enjoyed every moment of this fic, and would absolutely love to see you tackle S4!

Author's Response: So eager, he forgot Karen ;-). Thank you for all your awesome reviews :-)

I always get a little skeptical at the idea of these completely different world AUs, but this somehow managed to feel *so right* and so much like our "Office" even in the very different context. I love how everyone's show is so suited to who they are. And I love Jim getting his first taste of Pam's personality through her drawing :)

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you feel that way :)  I was nervous taking our beloved characters and putting them in a completely different setting, but I'm happy that to hear that you think I'm doing okay!

Thanks for reading :)

Yay for the meeting of Jim and Pam. And, oh my God, Angela's show was hilarious. You totally fooled me with that cat thing. And Angela/Dwight! "Excel spreadsheets"! They are SO weird, but awesome.

Author's Response: "So weird, but awesome"...kind of sums up Dwangela don't you think? :)  Thanks for reading!

Ha! The "quieter than a woman having sex with Toby" line took me completely by surprise and made me burst out laughing.

And go Pam! Woooo!

Author's Response:

Haha, yes, I'm so glad you liked that line!  Poor Toby, can't catch a break even in an AU.

Thanks for reading!

Yay! Pam obviously needed that tough love. And I love Andy in this chapter - for his complete goofiness in the beginning with Ryan, and for coming through in the end.

Author's Response: Thanks Semby!  Andy's a fun one to write :)  Thanks for reading!

Aww, Jim and Pam are doing so well! Considering how much we all love their interactions on the show, I think a radio show with them chatting together would be *very* popular. But, uh oh, with the other board operators! Here comes treble...

Author's Response: Here comes treble indeed :)  Thanks for reading!

Hurray, I trust Jan (pre-mental-breakdown Jan, that is) to resolve this situation! Maybe not smoothly or quickly, but.

The "troublemaker" comment was very cute :)

Yay, what a great resolution to the conflict! I love Jim rallying the cause. And Michael stalling Pam was *hilarious*.

“How long do I have to sit here?”

Michael once again eyed the clock.  “An hour and fifty minutes.”

Hee!

I think possibly my favorite moment was the switch in conversation topics to Jim's tie. Very cute. Although Michael's note was pretty classic, too! And of course, I love the last few paragraphs.

Well, taxis and stairs did not disappoint at all, and I'm a *big* fan of apartments, so I should be happy for awhile to come.

I absolutely love how impossible it is for them to get up the stairs in a proper/timely way. The race at the end was so cute!

Author's Response: Thanks, Semby!  I think your apartment-loving soul may approve of chapters 5 and 6.
