LOL "Physics for Poets" reminds me of college! So funny. I love your Jim voice -- it's just so good! This line was really sweet: "If she’d been there, she would have smiled at him, maybe winked, in conspiratorial amusement. All the same, he would have seen in her eyes that she was proud of him."

A few light bits and pieces I'd accumulated (have written enough angst lately, thanks.) Since they were just languishing, I figured I'd resurrect Vignettes and send them out into the world. Each is a stand-alone, NOT a chapter in a work-in-progress, so feel free to jump in and out. (I'm thinking there will be 3-5 pieces, but will have to see how the mood strikes me.)

Set mid-season 3.Aww I love how Marsha is sneaking around looking for letters. Heehee! Pam's letters are so heartfelt (the opening greeting and closing line of that first one was just priceless!!).
Aww these last few letters were so beautiful. I'm happy for Marsha and her kids and I love how Jim and Pam kept in touch with her and sent her copies of the letters. It really is a perfect epilogue -- all the characters are happy and we get to see little glimpses of their futures.
This was really one of the most romantic Jam stories ever. I am so glad I read this and thank you for sharing it! *happy sigh*

I mean, I think that might be a little awkward for awhile still, but eventually I'd hope we'd be able to laugh it all off. And now I'm picturing myself sitting on a couch laughing with Jim. Eeek the beginning was really awkward! Poor kids... I'm glad the restaurant staff tried to knock some sense into Jim, that was really funny. Aww and the notes, followed by the whispering -- so precious! I'm so sad to hear that it's almost over. =(
Author's Response: Well, it couldn't be TOO easy. I mean, that just wouldn't be any fun to read about. Oh no, wait, it would've. Really, I was just a big fan of the notes/letters theme at this point, so having them actually talk to each other just wouldn't have been as much fun for me to write. So selfish reasoning all around I guess. ;)

One thing I did with this story that I actually like a lot, is that I tried to give the periphery characters some background instead of just having them be one dimensional. It started with Marsha, and then just kind of expanded from there. The idea was to sort of have the reader realize that it takes more than two people to get a couple together, and sometimes that help can come from nice janitors and sometimes it can come from cranky customer service girls, but whatever form it comes in, eventually it all adds up to the couple getting together.

Oh my!! Sooo many good lines. I loved this part: Hey Pam! How’s it going? Oh, by the way, I read your letters, and, uh--turns out I want to marry you, too! What do you think? You, Me, Vegas? We could leave right now! Just wait here for a second while I go dump my girlfriend first. Hilarious. And KAREN!! Oh that's so heartbreaking. I do like her so I always feel bad when she gets hurt. *runs to read the next chapter*
I love how openly honest Pam is in these letters...and I love reading about Marsha piecing the story together. Oh this part was so bittersweet: I hope Karen tells you every day how incredible you are. Because you are. I don't know how else to say it, Jim you are... everything.
LOL she called Pam? What a little stalker! Haha I love it. Oh no, Pam threw away the post-it? That's sad, I hope she gets it back if Marsha ever decides to return the letters. These letters are getting more and more personal...I really like hearing Pam's thoughts, they're probably really close to what she was actually feeling last season. *sigh*
