Holy hell. This is my second time reading your story, and this chapter made me cry AGAIN. Thank you so much for giving us the "Without a Trace" set up, although I think from the way you described Jim's speech in addition to providing the WAT dialogue I would have pictured him that way anyway. Such brilliant, beautiful writing. I think this is one of your best chapters.

First of all, I just want to commend you on writing such a fabulous, intriguing, and realistic story. At first, I was a little wary of this story because of the title, but I was just reminded that you can never judge a book by its cover.

This chapter particularly got to me, and I'm not really sure why. It may have been because of how Jim's insecurities were shown through his tears, or maybe it's because I have something going on in my life that rang familiar with this chapter. In any event, it had me crying....that's how good the writing was. I'm so glad you are still updating this story because I always check back! Thanks so much!

I finished my first draft of the LAST chapter tonight. (I keep writing out of order.) I hope to update by the end of February with the next chapter (which will be Jim and his dad) and then hopefully the rest will follow quickly, since I've outlined it and written a bit of the remaining chapters already. Author's Response: Ah, you\'re welcome Sammie! My biggest complaint about a lot of romantic comedies is that half the time you don\'t understand why the couple even falls in love in the first place. With Jim and Pam, the danger is that we already KNOW (and have seen) why they fell in love, so we fic writers tend to rush into the intimate stuff. But the developing relationship and building tension is half the fun. Glad you don\'t mind that I took this one a bit slower. ;-) Hope you enjoy the rest! This is the first JAM fanfic I have ever read, and I have to say that I'm awfully impressed. Of course I have already fallen in love with our "real" Jim Halpert that we see on TV every week, but your amazing story made me fall in love with the "alternate universe" version of Jim Halpert. I didn't even know that was possible. I have only read the first 6 chapters so far, but the Jim in the first 5 absolutely broke my heart and I loved him for it. You have created such a great story that rivals the one of "The Office." It's excellent. I can't wait to read more. Keep up the great work!

Oh...my...goodness. You had me absolutely bawling when Jim was going through Megan's stuff with Sue. Also, midway through the chapter I was starting to feel sorry for Roy which is a feeling I never wanted to feel for him. But I absolutely loved how you tied in Roy's eternal love for Pam with Jim's eternal love for Megan. You have given these characters so much depth and I can never wait until a new chapter comes out! Thank you!

That....was...amazing. I haven't found a Jim/Pam story that made me cry in a long time. It was just so beautiful and so sad. I lost it from the moment Emily appeared to the end of the story with the documentary footage. Oh man. Now on to read your other ending, which I saved for last because you said it would be happier!
