Oh yay, I'm really loving this story :) I like the direction you've taken with showing Pam being the one pursuing Jim without knowing whether he has the same feelings for her or not. And I really like how you've tied this in with the office going on an outing for Halloween! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Oh man, I was so worried that Karen was going to try to steal Jim! (Please don't go that route! I like the way you've written her!) I was so frustrated with Pam throughout this chapter but she is, what, 24 in this story? Then again I'm 24 going on 25 and don't drink so maybe that's why I felt so irritated with her. But it's a realistic situation you've put them in, the frustration about not being able to see each other as often as they'd like. Well done, keep going girlie!

Author's Response: I promise I will not go the soap-opera route and Karen will not try to steal Jim! Ha-ha. Those are definitely not my intentions for her character, and I love that she\'s become a supportive room mate that Pam can rely on. Pam could definitely use Karen\'s support and friendship during these difficult times as she gets adjusted to all of the weird changes in her relationship with Jim. Even though Karen doesn\'t necessarily help Pam make a lot of respectable choices and keeps her out late on the weekends, I think she has a lot of knowledge to share with Pam, whether it\'s helping her understand Jim\'s Jewish background or teaching her how to sew her own clothing... Where all the good restaurants are... Seriously, where\'s my Karen/city guide? Hel-lo.

I, too, was frustrated with writing Pam\'s character in this chapter, but towards the end I feel like Pam eventually became frustrated with herself as she realized she was slowly going down the wrong path. She\'s just getting used to the idea of not having Jim around, and was just looking for a good time and for something to keep her mind off of missing him... Unfortunately, she went the wrong direction and found comfort in booze. Never a good idea! Tsk, tsk. Pam will definitely be wising up in the next chapter and learning how to deal on her own. It\'s just taking some time. So thank you for being patient with her as she struggles to find herself and works on gaining some independence away from Jim. And thank you for taking the time to review!

I've really enjoyed this story and the playlists that you've uploaded to go along with the chapters! You've turned me on to some great new artists I've never heard of before, so thank you! My only complaint is that during sex scenes you often have Pam staring at the ceiling and trying to be quiet. Maybe it's just me but it makes her seem detached. Is there a reason why you've had her do this? I was curious.

Oy, the sex scenes. To be honest, that whole area of writing smut is a totally new and daunting experience for me, although I am trying my best as not to convey that it\'s all uncharted waters on my end. So, I apologize if it\'s all a bit clumsy- the writing is something I am definitely working on.

Pam\'s apparent disconnection during sex was not quite intentional, although I do think that as Pam slowly grows into herself we will see her become a bit more confident and assertive in the bedroom... As hopefully so will I in the area of writing sex scenes. Ha-ha. Thank you so much for the feedback and for bringing that to attention. It will definitely help when writing future chapters. :)

I really enjoyed this chapter, which I didn't expect to be totally honest with you since I've never been that interested in Katy. But I think you've hit the nail on the head in this one. Very realistic. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks! :) I have to admit I\'ve never really been that interested in her either, but then she just got into my head and was like, \"Come on, you know you wanna write about me and my Ugg boots.\" And so I had to.

Okay, I did some further investigating. You need a masters to teach art in COLLEGE but not in K-12. But you do need a teaching certificate to teach K-12 along with a bachelors. I'm so sorry for giving you the wrong information! I was just going by what I had been told. I've heard conflicting information regarding teaching from counselors and advisors at my school all the time, seriously. So perhaps what you can do in the next chapter is have Pam realize that she and Jim mis-read the application? But I would definitely look more into teaching certificates and how long it takes to get them and what's required.

Anyhoo, back to a normal review! Loved that you've brought them back down to earth in the sense that they're realizing that getting what they want isn't as easy as they thought it would be. And I'm glad that you had Pam mention that it would probably be better in the long run if they wait until they can afford the house on their own instead of having to rely on their parents. I know that a lot of people have to rely on their parents for those sorts of things when they first get married but it would always be best in the long run if you were able to wait and do it for yourself, you know? Great chapter, as always!

One of the great things you've accomplished throughout writing Indie Rock & Keds and this story is that you've remained true to your characterization of all the characters you've used throughout the duration of each story. And the wedding you presented was so very them, your version of Jim and Pam. Bravo! As for the next chapter, I would definitely like to see what goes on during their honeymoon!

Another awesome chapter as always! Quick nitpick: in order to become an art teacher in a public high school I think you need a masters. At least that's what I've always been told when I researched possibly becoming a teacher. I would look into that before having Pam applying for the job. Just thought I'd let you know!

Ahhh, I really liked how you made it seem like Jim and Pam were the ones getting married but it was really Michael and Holly's wedding :) Really great chapter, girlie! I'm glad that you had Pam change her mind. I don't think she could honestly be happy with a justice of the peace wedding with none of her's or Jim's family to be there to witness it.
