Author's Response: Thanks :) Once I got a little ways into this, I found myself writing like Pam had everything together and Jim was a complete disaster, instead of them being on a journey together, and I\'m not sure how successfully I reined that in.

Dude, if this is your first time writing something like this, then I am duly impressed! This is so in character and beautifully written, and I love that you're able to capture the emotions, both good and not-so-good. My favorite bit was this:
He’s twisted in his chair, grinning up at her with his eyes alight, and she’s leaned down and pressed her mouth to his before she can really think it through. It’s tentative and a little awkward, but still, the feathery thing that’s been beating at her belly doubles its efforts. His lips are as warm as she remembers them.
So beautiful. And I love that it's Pam that makes the first move, and I love that they had a make-out session because not much is better than that.
I can't wait for more!

GITC, I'm finally catching up with the rest of this story, and I have to say, I am ALWAYS impressed at your characterizations. You really have fleshed these people out, and I especially like the nice backstory that Roy and Pam have. They mgiht not be completely right now, but at one time they were great for each other.

This is just so sweet and soft and pretty and captures a real fear that parents must have. I also think snuggling a baby in the crook of your neck is about the best feeling in the world. Thanks for this story!

This is a holiday inspired fic based on Season Two's Christmas Party. A look into what inspired Jim to get the teapot, and why Pam swapped Dwight for it. From there, it is an AU look at what happens when Pam realizes that Jim took back the infamous Christmas Card and why she's desperate to find out what Jim wrote.uncgirl, this is really, really good! I feel like you've captured their thoughts and feelings so perfectly, and it was so neat to read, it all felt so seamless with what we got to see on the show. I can't WAIT for more!

Wow, deerinthepark, I'm glad you found this! It's so perfectly Pam.
It's not that she's never considered a relationship with Jim-- she has. Every small, secret moment between them, she's wondered 'what-if'. But it's always been just that; she could always brush it off as too fanciful, impractical; unreachable. She's never really felt good enough for him. Jim got pretty girls like Katy, and could spoil them with his attention and wit. It wasn't that she didn't sense his attraction to her-- she did. But she'd convinced herself it was just the leftovers of a "crush" that would never become anything more than that. Girls like her were lucky to get guys like Roy: dependable, handsome and easy. And they were mostly happy together. It was enough.
This paragraph sums up entirely what I've ever thought of Pam's character and motives in a perfectly succint few sentences.

Watching the documentary as a favor for Ryan, Toby learned that almost everyone at Dunder Mifflin could probably sue Michael for something and win big. And he learned a few other very important lessons as well.Steph, this was SO much fun to read! Poor Toby, this was a rough time for him, but I liked that he got the girl in the end. All the characters were very well-rounded. I also liked the way you formatted it, it was a great read!

This is the problem with dating your best friend. This is the problem with dating someone you know too well. You know exactly what will hurt the most, what name or phrase will cut the deepest. You know exactly what to say in order to rip a wound on top of a scab they forgot they had. And even though you regret the words the moment they leave your mouth, you can’t help feel a smug sense of superiority, if only for a second.
That is so spot on that it's scary. I love that you've shown them faults and all!
This waas a pretty piece of prose. I liked that they are imperfect and discovering each other's imperfections, rather than having everything be rosy all the time.
This is particulary lovely:
They kissed and everything felt new, they laughed and everything felt the same. They were far past the point of getting to know each other, but in a sense, they really were not.

Lis, this is a fantastic piece! I love Michael and Jan as parents-to-be. You've captured their idiosyncracies so well. Of course Jan would HAVE to know the sex of the baby, and Michael would be swept away by the wonder of it all.
I totally wouldn't mind if there was a follow up.....
