Great minds think alike because I must admit, I have thought of JAM every time I listen to Company Calls Epilogue, but I never could write a story, quite like this based on it.
The ending was fantastic. As was the middle, and the beginning. Great job!

This story was so unbelievably perfect and beautiful- and I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. I loved the poetry... the feeling I got from knowing what he was swimming towards- an illusion, a mirage of hope.
It was perfect. Just perfect.
Author's Response: Well, that's unbelievably nice of you to say. I'm a sucker for this kind of thing too. Mirage...that was the word I was looking for...may have to go back and edit it in...thanks!
Author's Response: Hi Spamster - just to clarify (thought I might have sounded flip earlier)...I'd been trying to think of the word 'mirage' all morning...it was maddeningly on the tip of my tongue and I finally gave up. SO, thanks so much - for both your very perceptive and lovely review, and for helping me out that way!

I loved the very last sentence Did anything change? For som reason, it struck me in a way that only Dylan Thomas and TS Eliot are capable of doing. Until now. Great job.
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks Spamster, I am truly flattered.

I've read nearly all your work and I definately like how you tried something new. It was so poetic, and so real.
Loved the ending. For some reason, I had an odd sort of deja vu- the images in my head were so lifelike that I thought I'd seen them before.

I can't even describe how much I love this. Everything about it, so poetic and beautiful, are exactly what I needed today. It's perfect.
I know how you're feeling though. I have about four different one shots formulating in my head, but none of them ever get finished. But I'm happy this one was.
