I liked this a lot. It's very rare to get a glimpse into Roy's life, and I like that you chose to showcase the friendship between Roy and Darryl and juxtapose it with what must have been an incredibly trying time for Roy. (Look at me, talking like they're real people.) Great great job, just like everything else you do!

Author's Response: oh, thank you! i think it\'s hard to be on the receiving end of a break up, and i think roy deserves some credit. also, i really have trouble with fic that paints roy as such a simple, one note kind of guy. i think he is a little more complicated than that.

Oooooh. I like that we're not sure who this is about. I know it's probably Jim and Pam, duh, but I like that it's something that isn't contained to two specific characters. Great job, I'm looking forward to more!

You are all about the challenges, aren't you? I thought this was great and very believable, especially if Roy and Jim's teams had been playing against each other in like, a tournament or the state finals or something. Very well written, as always, and I loved it!

Very late to the party here, but I loved this so much. I love Dwight and Pam’s friendship as it played out on the show and this gives me such happy feelings—hope for Pam and appreciation for Dwight and just contentment at getting to see more of their weird and unique little bond. Great job.

I just wrote a review that pretty much sums up how I feel about this whole piece a few chapters ago, so I would be repeating myself if I wrote it all again. My first thought after finally finishing this beautiful work was “well this just fucked me right up in the best way.” Excellent excellent world.

I read this story as it was being updated and was always so struck with the realities you portrayed. The fights and the love and the hurt and the happiness. I’ve been away for a while and have recently come back as a writer and a reader, and have been picking up where I left off on stories I was actively reading. Again, I am struck with the realities that you have written. As painful as they may be. I didn’t see this coming and didn’t expect it, but I just had to pause in my reading and leaving a review for this chapter because it made me lose my breath. It is beautifully written and heartbreaking and just my god. You’re so good.

So not kidding, I just read all of your stories in one day and just had to let them know that I am in love with them all. They are all so well written, so in character, and with just the right amount of fluff an angst to really give that good season 2/3 Jim and Pam feel that I just can’t get enough of. I hope to see more from you!

I love this glimpse into what Pam is thinking. And i love how you wrote Pam, so much more assured than she comes across but without pushing to to a level that becomes believable. I love how she incorporated things she wrote in the emails into the letter. I had an idea a few days ago to do something similar a la “Dear Mr Henshaw” but now I don’t know if I can because you did this so well! Great job.

Just binged this and am getting ready to binge the rest of your work, so prepare for an onslaught of review notifications. I have so many feelings about this story, all of them good, and at the top I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed it.

The thing I REALLY loved was how even though Pam was kind of OOC, she really wasn’t. She was a better, brighter version of Fancy New Beesly, kind of the way she is at the end of the series when she gives a lot fewer fucks but in a better way. Does that make sense? IDK. I like how you wove in the insecurities we know that she has but didn’t make her the meek and timid Pam that she can so easily be made out to be—not without reason, of course, because she is that way.

I loved how Jim was kind of a jerk at the beginning. It’s super believable of him to speak without thinking/considering what he’s really saying. I love how both of them aren’t falling all over themselves to have the wordy declarations of love, that it was just sweet and simple the first time and sweet and simple every time after that. I love that you addressed the long term affect of saving Pam from being hit by a bus.

I loved Oscar. I loved that there was no Roy. I LOOOVE the band stuff, as a former trumpeter. Overall, as with everything you’ve written, I loved the entire thing. It’s always a joy to read your work and the way you weave these characters into new and exciting territory. Even though college aged JAM has been written a lot, you made it new. Fabulous as always. On to the next!

This is such a fun story! The dialogue reads exactly like an episode; you’ve nailed their characterization. I can hear every line in every persons voice. I can’t wait to read more!
