Ugh sooo good. Even having seen the movie, the way you described the silencer (is that their official name? If not, I LOVE IT) was chilling. The interaction between Jim and Pam is written so naturally, and I have to say that I am a fan of them getting to know each other in this weird and scary context. I also really like the way you incorporate details about their life before the invasion, like in this chapter with the look into Pam and Roy’s relationship pre and post aliens. I love this story, I love you, I can’t wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you BT! I believe credit for "silencer" goes to BecauseOfYou, and I'm thrilled to hear it was chilling because this is my first time attempting to write anything suspenseful or scary. I'm also love writing them meeting and learning about each other in this environment, so much about Jim and Pam is non-verbal so I think it's all pretty natural. Now to get going on the next chapter!

How DARE you end this chapter on such a cliffhanger! I will be waiting desperately for your next update because I cannot WAIT to see Jim get all hot and protective.

Anyway, what I love-the dreams, Pam painting the calendar, the continued back story, and the way you really had me believing we were about to get some life affirming silent action happening right up until the silencer came in. This whole story is so gripping and engaging. Can this be the AQP sequel, please?

Author's Response: Thanks BT! havent gotten the call to write the AQP sequel yet but I'm hopeful!

Omg I just love it all so much. The tension was great, their journey was great, the way they finally admitted how they felt to each other was fabulous. Also, I REALLY love how you describe the sign language in this story. I think it adds so much. Great job as per usual. I am on the edge of my seat for the next one!

Author's Response: Thanks BT! I agree about the sign language adding so much, Pam & Jim (especially Jim) always said more with their facial expressions than they did with words and incorporating sign language comes pretty naturally. I'm hoping to get the next chapter up soon!

I really liked this! I like fics that are from the perspective (of sorts) of inanimate objects, I think it's such a fun idea and gives us a different insight into characters that we know and love so well. And the teapot holds such significance. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you BigTuna! I do too, and especially with such an important object in their relationship.

When I read one of your stories, I get so attached to your versions of Jim and Pam that I crave more of them and the world you’ve created for them after I finish. You have such a talent and we are so lucky to have you share it with us. Excellent job with a serious and heavy subject, excellent dialogue and inner monologues/trains of thought, excellent conflict and resolution and excellent everything in between. All around excellent work. I genuinely look forward to your next endeavor!

Author's Response: Thank you so much <3 I am still looking for inspiration for my next story.

Go Pam! Look at her, all assertive and asking for what she wants. That’s so exciting! I have to say, I thought it would definitely be Roy calling but I’m glad that it wasn’t!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'll explain why we haven't heard for Roy soon :)

The bad thing is that I was (am) insanely busy lately and haven’t had as much time to read as I would have liked. The good thing is that I had like ten chapters of this to binge read. I especially especially LOVED the epilogue, but really I loved it all. You gave life to characters that we don’t know in a really organic and believable way. Don’t apologize for this being long—I’m so happy to have it! Wonderful job as always, and I’m excited to read what comes next for you!

Author's Response: Well I'm really glad you caught up! Thanks for reading, and for the feedback along the way. Looking forward to having you back here on the site (hopefully updating your own fics... XD).

Okay I was insanely busy for the last however many days and just caught up. I love so much about these last several chapters! Helene and Jim finally getting the meeting they deserved, the simultaneous remembering that Jim works in Stamford now, the hint of the conversation they were going to have about it, and the “Around the World in 80 Days” reference! I love that book, too. As always, you’re amazing. Keep it up!

Author's Response: Thanks! I love Around the World in 80 Days too, so when I was trying to figure out how I could undo how long I'd said it would take the Halperts to get back I immediately thought of it.

Ooh I’m excited to really read some Helene moments. I think she’s an underutilized character, too, even in the show. In my head I always picture the original Helene who for whatever reason felt more like Pam’s mom than the Helene we did get to see. I’m imagining that Helene in this, too. I loved that Larissa was the first to introduce herself, and I loved the equally tongue tied reaction of Jim and Pam!

Author's Response: She's TOTALLY underutilized. I can't even find a character tag for her, which is criminal. And I also think of Helene 1.0 (so to speak); partly this is because I sometimes deny the existence of anything after a certain point in the series because I didn't love where they took it, but mostly it's because I just love what we do get to see of her at the start.

YAS Pam, lay down the law, sister! I loved that. Also, I can’t wait to see Helene meet Jim! We were robbed of that in the show, for sure. I have no doubt you will do it justice!

Author's Response: Thank you for your faith in me! Pam is in a weird place, I think, so I have her sometimes being assertive and sometimes not--this seemed like a good spot for assertive!Pam.

Number one: are you a mind reader? Because Pam and mine’s Waffle House orders are the exact same and I don’t know anybody down here who does liked diced! That made me so excited. And two: I am so excited to meet Pam’s mom, as well as have the two of them spend some time together movie watching! I just enjoy this so much. It’s sweet and believable and i always love the updates. Can’t wait for the next one.

Author's Response: I just went with my gut on Pam's order, so I guess I think you're Pam? High praise if so. And thank you so much for your kind words! Let me know what you think of Helene once she shows up.

I really loved the interaction between Jim and Larissa. I’ve been waiting for that since the story started! I think they have a believable older brother/younger sister relationship with just enough ribbing mixed with just enough emotion so that neither one is over the top. And I like Pam’s explanation for the reasons that she broke up with Roy. I do believe she still cared about him and wanted him to do well, and that gets pushed aside in a lot of fic. So great job! As always, can’t wait for more.

Author's Response: Thanks! I was somewhat concerned that both of those weren't going to read well, so that is a big relief.

Just blew through the last few chapters. Loved them all, as usual. I love that Pam didn't beat around the bush, I love that Larissa's first reaction was to go get Pam when Jim woke up, I love Jim's emotions and thought processes as he takes in Pam being there and piecing everything together. There was one line that I really loved about how efficiently Jim swept Pam off her feet--so good! If you want to double update every day, I'd be totally down for that.

Can't wait to watch Jim and Pam unpack things in the upcoming chapters!

Author's Response: Thanks for reading! I'm not sure I'm up to always double-updating, because the story seems to come to me in 1000 word bursts, but I'm really glad you're enjoying the characters here.

I love the interactions with Pam and Larissa! I want a whole story based solely on Larissa and Jim as they’re growing up. Up for the challenge?

And I can’t WAIT for the next chapter! I love the Jim interludes so I can’t wait to see what’s happening in his mind while Pam is telling him that she’s not running.

Author's Response:

Oh boy, that might need to be the next one after this, yes. Although I only do one WIP at a time, and I think that's a multi-chapter one, so you'll have to wait ;).

Speaking of waiting, ask and ye shall receive: the next chapter in Jim's head is up.

This is my favorite chapter of anything I’ve read of yours, because of the imagery of the monuments and Jim being confronted with all these things he perceived as failures. It’s a great way for him to grapple with these things and a wonderful indicator of how much these things have shaped him as a person. Hopefully he knows how much Larissa loves him, and I have a feeling that we’ll get to see him find out how much Pam loves him, too!

Author's Response: Thanks! Given how much of my writing you've read on this site, that's saying something, so I'm glad to hear it. I think we'll get to see really soon how Jim reacts to the love from both these women, but I think you can rest assured that he knows how Larissa, at least, feels already.

I’m so excited to see where this goes! I love Larissa’s characterization so far and the internal struggle that Pam had with trying to call Jim—that’s something I think she would have done a hundred times over that summer. Can’t wait for your next update!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'll try to keep the updates flowing.

I like the idea of getting to know Larissa first, since she’s such a blank slate in that we know next to nothing about her. So I appreciate your decision to not have Jim wake up immediately upon Pam’s arrival in the hospital room. I think Pam could have very much benefited from someone to talk to after breaking off her wedding...maybe Larissa is that person? However you chose to write it, I am excited!

Author's Response: Thank you. When do you think Jim should wake up? It feels both like a copout and a necessary story element to wake him up soonish.

These last two chapters, where Pam described herself and then Larissa describes Jim, are just so beautiful. I’ve never heard someone describe the way they see the world the way that Pam does, and i think it’s so fitting of her. And I love getting to see more of Larissa and have her fleshed out as a character. Head canon on Larissa Halpert thanks to Comfect officially accepted. Great great great job.

Author's Response: Thank you. I've been really worried about the characterization in these chapters, so this is good to hear.

I love the choices you’re making here! I think that I stories like this there’s always a rush to wake the injured party up so that there can be some dialogue, and I appreciate you taking your time to get Jim conscious. I love Pam’s inner monologue-dialogue-and I think it’s really fitting for what we know of her characterization. Can’t wait for more!

Author's Response: Thanks! I think Jim will wake up on the 11th of June, but there may be a lot of June 11 in the story before he does. I didn't realize when I started doing the chapters by date how much they would overlap. Oh well...

Oooh this chapter gave me chills. I appreciate that you didn’t give him an inner monologue or make it si that he’s aware of Pam being there. I love it. On to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! He will definitely develop something more like an inner monologue or dreams next time we drop in on him, but I definitely wanted to convey that while he's not dead he's definitely very out of it.

I love this line: “and she wasn’t minding it one bit, except when he reminded her it was happening.” It’s maybe the most concise way that I’ve seen a writer describe that whole dynamic and it gets the point across without being too flowery or full or jargon or whatever. Idk, it just really stuck out to me as a lovely line. Great work as always, onto the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks. I like that one too, and it's nice to know my internal sense of what's going on in their relationship mirrors yours :).
