Oh, the angst. Ouch! Poor Jim. And Pam. I hope the kid isn't hers... or at least that she isn't with anyone. Wherever you take it, though, I'll definitely read. Great set-up. Nicely done :)

Author's Response: Thank you more awake! I have been tinkering with the middle of this story. I know what the ending is, so hopefully I can work through my flip flopping and post a few good chapters to get to that ending. Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it! I'm hoping to have a new chapter up within a day or two.

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this story the first time around. Very sweet summary of all Jim went through to get his wife.

I'm glad you're back. You are such a great writer, and I love reading anything by you. You've also always been supportive of my writing, so I thought I would just add myself to the list of your MTT admirers. :) Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Author's Response: Thanks :) I am really sorry that I took these stories down. But I'm really so touched that you liked them enough to want them back up. I hope you're writing your next chapter, because I can't wait to read it. Your story is awesome. Thank you so much for saying such sweet things. I'm in the process of getting chapters together of my other stories between my computer and my email, so it might take a while, but I'll get them back up. :)

I think everyone knows someone whose baby has done something like this, and even though the situation is completely gross, I'm glad you went there because this was hilarious(especially reading it from Jim's POV). I read it while taking the train home from work earlier, and my trying-not-to-laugh smile probably made me look like a crazy person. Oh, Cece. haha Too funny. :)

Author's Response: The situation is gigantically gross, but I'm glad you found the same humor in it that I did. And the point-of-view had to be Jim's.. first, becuase I love writing Jim and second, because I thought he would see the humor in it... I think Pam you too, but she would be a little more annoyed. But that's just my two cents!

Cute idea. Very nicely done :)

I sometimes have a hard time getting into stories that either take Jim and Pam out of the context of Scranton or have them meet up years later, but... you've got me with this one, especially after they just kind of went for it in this chapter. haha :) I love the descriptions and little details; everything is really vivid. Jim's inner monologue is also really well done, and I'm so looking forward to seeing where you take this. Awesome job :)

I'll leave a longer comment later, but for now, I'll just say that this story has been so incredibly good, and you should definitely be proud of it. Seriously. Wow.

Author's Response: Thank you so so much for saying that! I am pretty proud of how it turned out! I had a few other ideas for it, just small additions here and there that I ultimately decided to leave out, and I'm glad it came out the way it did in the end. Thanks for sticking with this story throughout! I really appreciate the lovely comments, thanks so much! :-)

Ahh You're killing me here. It's so painfully realistic, and you are writing it so, so well. We pretty much never see them seriously disagree on the show, but the tension and vulnerability and frustration is totally believable, and I can really picture it happening (and almost feel it with them, too). And the way that you had Cece react to their argument in the kitchen just adds to the realism. As for that last twist at the end? That's definitely going to add some conflicting emotions to the situation, and I can't wait to see how they each deal with it. Seriously awesome job, Danielle!! :) The story and the little details and everything are just perfect.

Author's Response: I'm so sorry I'm so behind in replying to reviews! I'm really relieved to hear that it's coming out realistically! I've been worried about that, and the argument especially, I didn't want to take either of them over the top and out of character. I just wanted to make Pam upset just enough to be annoyed with him and him to be just annoyed enough to raise his voice. I'm happy that you thought the way Cece reacted was real. I'm mostly worried about her portrayal too, and it helps to hear that I'm doing it right. Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy the updates as the post, hope to hear from you as the story continues! :)

Lovely chapter. It was nice to see that the initial news of the baby made Jim temporarily forget about their current struggles. That was a really sweet scene :) And then when the worry and self-doubt set back in, I love how supportive Pam is and the image of the two of them talking through the night. This all still seems so real and exactly how the two of them would handle this sort of thing. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you thought that his reaction to the baby news was realistic! I was worried, but yeah, I really do think any time Pam tells him they're having a baby, he'll always be happy no matter what. I'm happy my supportive Pam is coming across well and not overly pushy and annoying. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed this chapter. I'm so stuck on the second half of the next chapter so I may need a good nudge to get it off of my hard drive and posted, so hopefully soon this story can continue. Thanks so much for the lovely review, it really means so much! :)

Such a sweet chapter. My favorite part was the little note about/to Pam at the beginning-- I'm a total sucker for stuff like that. But I also really loved the descriptions of everyone's little moments with the newest Halpert, and the way you write Cece continues to be completely adorable. Looking forward to seeing how everything progresses with them as a family. Really, really nice job :)

Oh, Cece. Poor baby. And poor stressed Jim who is trying so hard to keep things happy and under control for his girls. I was so excited to see this updated, and as usual, it did not disappoint :) Glad to see that Pam and Ben are doing well for now. Looking forward to what is to come for all four Halperts!

Very emotional chapter for Jim and Pam. This part really got me: “I haven’t even met him and he already has such a big part of my heart.”
“Pam, he is ours.” My Ben. My boy. My son.
You can really feel how afraid they are and how much they love their kids. And then at the end when they learn that the contractions have stopped? Their reaction had me smiling. Beautiful :) Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Oh wow. I hope you don't leave this as a oneshot because I'm definitely sucked in. I really like that it's written from Jim's POV. His love and concern for his family is very apparent. Cece is adorable talking a mile a minute as she tries to help her mom feel better. As for Pam? Poor girl must be scared to death. And that is why you have to tell us what happens next!! hehe :) Amazing job on this one (as always).

Author's Response: Definitely not a one shot anymore. People would come to my doorstep with pitchforks if I left it the way it is. I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Nice to see that the Halperts are hanging in there :) I love the name they picked for the baby and the details of him being more mellow than his sister. I also liked the insight into how Cece is feeling about all of this. Jim and Pam handled it well (though I don't blame protective!Jim for freaking out at first).

This was fantastic. Such an original idea and very well-written. I'd love to see a continuation of this.

Author's Response: Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea what it means to have such talented people compliment me like this. Though I'm a little curious - for a continuation, would you rather see short, isolated incidents like this one, or an AU where Spencer interacts more with all the Dunder Mifflin employees? I've got both ideas bouncing around in my head and just cannot choose between them.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I had about three different ideas for a new story and wrote a few pages for each, but this one won out, it just flowed so well out of me that I went with it. Getting into his head has been fun so far too, so that's a bonus. I'm happy to hear you like it so far, and I hope you like the way it continues. More to come soon! :)

It's been dead around here, so I was extra excited to see this :) A nice reflection on what he has been through and who he is now. I loved the image of him sitting there with Cece and Philip. So sweet. Same with them all sitting as a family as their babies fell asleep. Loved it. Thanks for keeping this going.

Author's Response: It has been really quiet here, but thanks to YOU I think it'll pick up... though hopefully others will join in soon, something sparked my creative juices though and I've got a ton of new ideas. I can't thank you enough for that. I really do love the image of him sitting with the kids too like that, just hanging out. I'm sure I'm going to have to get them out of the house eventually, but it's tough with these particular one shots, because it's always after work. I think once I get the newer stuff written, they'll actually be outside of the house breathing fresh air. Thank you so much for everything, really. :)

Thank you for taking the time to write this! (And especially for including the lights and cookies) :) It took me the whole train ride home from work to read it, and I probably looked crazy because I was smiling so much. The thought of Jim getting Pam that terrace that she has always wanted is so perfect. We only get very short glimpses of their love for each other now, so it's so sweet to read about Jim surprising her and her reaction. And about them being "kissy, kissy." (haha Cece was adorable)

Author's Response: Thank YOU so much for the lovely ideas! I'm so sorry it took so long to get to replies, it's been one thing after another since the New Year started, but I hope I'm back on track now and feeling like myself again. I really wish we'd get more of them together, but I'm hoping that was just because Jenna was limited with what she could do while pregnant and now when she comes back they'll be back to being "them" again. At least I can HOPE it, right? I'm so happy that you liked this and thank you again so much for the lovely ideas! :)

Loved this. :) On the show, my ideal Jim-coming-home scenario would have been Pam and the kids meeting him at the airport, but since they didn't go that route, your version of their reunion is the perfect substitution. Banter in the beginning, sweet kid stuff in the middle (LOVED little Cece here), and sweet couple stuff at the end. (And I laughed at your note at the end. haha) Thank you for this! It made me smile.

Author's Response: Oh, I completely agree, I would have loved to have seen Pam and the kids meeting him at the airport. I'm loving writing Cece and the family stuff for some reason, I think mainly because we'll never see any of it, it just sort of sparks up in my brain until I write it. I'm so happy to see that you enjoyed this! Thank you! :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I am so happy that you liked this, thank you so much for the lovely compliment! I was very close to not doing these anymore, but the thought of writing a Thanksgiving fic plus the great idea of different perspectives from Nancy, I couldn't not write it. Oh, this was perfect. Everything. Seriously. On top of the different emotions and insights from Jim, there were so many little details that just made this great.

And I don't know why, but I loved this image:
her glasses halfway down her nose, her hair in a messy bun, wearing the t-shirt he bought her that reads, “Hands Off,” across her belly. Before her on the table is the creation she’s apparently very pleased about, her smile wide and her eyes focused

I guess because I sometimes forget that they don't always wear work clothes? Haha. Still, though, such a sweet image of him walking in to check on her.

I'm so glad to see that you're doing these for this season. :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I came up with the hands off shirt idea after hearing a pregnant woman complaining to her husband about random old ladies coming over to touch her belly. I thought Pam would feel the same way. Glad you liked that and the description too. I know, it's difficult to imagine Jim wearing jeans and Pam in sweats, so I'm happy that it came out well. I'm happy that you'll be following this! Thanks so much. I'll try my best to have weekly updates. :)

I love the image of a Halpert family dinner. So cute. I also liked the inclusion of the stuff with Pam's dad. While clearly not fluffy, it adds even more realism. Aaand... I loved everything else, too. You continually come up with awesome stuff for these things. Thank you!! :)

Author's Response: I love that image too! I'm trying not to write too many of them, otherwise they'll all be the same, but I do love the three of them just sitting down to dinner. This is a nice glimpse of their end-of-the-day thoughts. It's interesting to see them thinking about something so real and scary, and I like how you handled their reactions-- serious, but also sweet. Lovely job :)

Author's Response: Thanks :) I'm happy you liked this one :) I keep thinking of new ways to write this one, so I am glad that what I did come out with was good. I worked around the image of them resting in bed and went backwards from there with their thoughts. I thought they would be more serious than normal just by the way he was walking so slowly and she was rubbing his back, telling him she'd call his doctor. That little bit on the show just spoke so many volumes to me about how much she adores him. Thanks so much for the lovely compliment! :)

I was SO excited to see that you felt inspired to continue. Sorry this is a little late. I loved this update. Poor Cece missing her daddy. Her interaction with him was so sweet-- asking him if he wants a carrot, freaking out when he briefly walked away to get his food, and then (my favorite) mimicking his actions while listening to him talk. So adorable. As was this:
The instant Philip grabbed a hold of her finger Pam smiled and felt her shoulders relax. “Dogs don’t do this,” she cooed as she kissed the top of the baby’s head. ... So much cute.
And then the part at the end with just Pam and Jim together.. guh. Lovely. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for this and for the rec on the MB! I don't know why but I can't get the idea out of my head that Cece misses her daddy so much and she gets cranky about it. I just think that Jim really focuses his non working time as being a great dad to his kids. I'm so happy that you liked this, and I loved that line too! I'm really hoping that they show some kind of reunion on the show, but I do have something special planned for the evening of his return. Thanks! :)
