Coley! Your writing is so natural and believable and I can just see them and hear them and BELIEVE that it is all happening! I don't know what you have in store, but I am sure it will be just a real as the room I am sitting in!
So I was not familiar with the Barenakedladies song so I looked up the lyrics (did my research) before reading the story. The next story that's posted has 'treehouse' in the title, but I got a little confused and assumed there would be a treefort. But I like the not-real green dress. And poor Karen is so confused and I cannot wait for the next chapter.
I really adore your writing. All your story notes had me prepared for something weird and a stretch, but so far, it is just . . . I can just hear Pam breathing in and breathing out. And chuckling. And grinning. And I can't wait!

Coley! LOVE THIS! Your writing is so VIVID! I can see Jim so clearly up on that tractor. And every other scene is nearly as alive. That tractor was pretty darn riveting! Oh, I am SOOO enjoying this! Kelly's involvement is giving this such a junior high flavor, coupled with Pam's inexperience with adult flirtation. It really is a totally different experience with Pam having the crush first, but Jim is falling fast too. I am looking forward to Pam owning her feelings, rather than being dashed around in the waves. But this is all so very sweet -- I love it!

Love this! I have a similar story to tell too. My first date with my now-husband was in high school. He offered to give me a ride to a play our class was going to --- I assumed that it would be a car full of classmates. I happily said yes. But about a week before the outing he said "where do you want to go for dinner before the play?" I did a double-take and said, "dinner? Aren't there going to be others in the car?" He just grinned. I was truly shocked. But then I grinned too, and that was the beginning!

Early in my relationship with my now-husband, we went to Spain with a school group. While on this trip, he got sick and was running a fever. He did not hallucinate, but it did affect him. He got really, really lovey-dovey and affectionate. He kept trying to pull me into the bed with him in his hotel room, but he had two roommates who could have walked in at any time, so it was a bit of a tug of war. But he was so adorable and wouldn't stop talking and being silly and cute and lovable.
This story reminds me so much of that time. It is a very fond memory!
Can't wait to see what happens next Sam!
