I do love this! Kamala Harris has talked a lot about inspiring girls to realize what they can accomplish. But this story beautifully illustrates an example of how that can happen, one girl at a time. Ohmygosh, this is SOOOO GOOOOD! I am so hooked. I sometimes get annoyed with fics that jump back and forth, time-wise, only because it is hard to keep track. But I am LOVING this! It's fun to watch all of them, being so self-deluded and wanting to scream at them. But it is also fun to watch them tie themselves up in knots, knowing that we'll be able to watch them figure it out. Even Ryan is fun to watch. And all the little hints at what is to come are so intriguing! I may or may not be bouncing in my chair and clapping, waiting for the next chapter! :)

I like this. The memory of the boy who teased her reminded me of a boy who shot a rubber band at my face once at catechism. It was a big fat rubber band and it actually hurt a lot. I remember my whole face turned red and I was mostly upset and didn't understand why anyone would do that. Over the years, his courting skills became a little more appropriate, but not much, and I was always a bit afraid of him. But yeah, he carried a torch for me for quite a while. Go figure.

Such a wonderful story! I have to say that normally, excessive tears in a fic are annoying to me, especially when Pam cries a lot. But the tearful sex really resonated for me because I always cry the most when I am RELIEVED about something. All the stress leading up to a resolution is released once I know the pain will stop. Poor Jim and Pam were in so much pain for YEARS that the lovemaking was a huge relief, both emotionally and physically, that tears were a completely natural reaction in my eyes. Might it also reflect my first love? Yeah, maybe.
There is so much more that was fantastic about this fic --- it unfolded so beautifully. Thank you for this beautiful gift! Love it!
