Lots of fun in this opening chapter. Past Pam already knows where her heart truly lies. The fact she can't keep her eyes off him and also slips into daydreams is proof enough of that. Loved the time skip where she can finally act on those feelings.

Super cute as well. That it all starts with Pam offering her own classic pink cardigan was lovely. Then she amps it up by getting him one of his own and it builds from there. Really a lot of fun to see that there would be some differences between how we see these characters at work and at home. Great way of building all that.

A few first date/new relationship flutters there but still a lot of fun to see them so easily happy with each other. Kind of fun to think this was the first nice morning they had. I also think they were either just barely in time to work or showed up a little late. Either way, still lots of fun.

Interesting reaction from Pam there. But considering the huge feelings she had associated with that cardigan and now Jim's sweater it also makes sense. I loved how Jim was there to reassure her though. Now that they're together he's doing everything he can to make sure she knows that too.
Loved they way they brought some new memories to those sweaters as well. ;)

Love that Jim is so ready to step up right here. Also I'm getting some huge flashbacks of some of my favorite shirts being ruined in very similar circumstance. Annoying at the time, but fond memories now. Also Jim, dad to dad, let your wife help you. She's not made of lace and you'll burn out if you try to do everything. Regardless it was a lot of fun to see Cece meet her brother for the first time and how they start down the path of being a multi-kid family.
Oh also caught a line there that seemed familiar. "Somehow burning spaghetti in a pot of boiling water." Seems like this particular Jim could use some cooking classes.
Great fun with all of these of course.

Starting out really early with this one. It was cute to see their early personalities start to come through. Jim already falling for a girl yet being a little scared to make a move. Yet when he does it works out. Pam hoping for something more than what she's had in the past. Then getting kind of disappointed because the guy she thinks she likes doesn't quite respond how she would like.

Not a great day for either of them here. Trying to be with the person. They chose but can't stop thinking about the person they want. Lots of similarities too. Roy and Karen don't like the holiday. Jim and Pam of course do. Some differences though. Roy coming in drunk and acting like he owns the place, and her. Karen not thinking it would be a big deal to not be with her boyfriend. Yeah that would be a hard hit to both Jim and Pam's hearts. Still at least Jim and Pam still have each other on the mind.

Jim making up for all Valentines Days past was just so typically sweet and over the top of him. Lots of fun to imagine them going back through the years as if they had been together that long. Of course even if they were reliving their childhoods they still get into plenty of adult activities too. Just all sorts of sweet to see them open and loving like this. And they'll have the rest of their lives to make new memories with each other too.

Whoa! Big time jump. However I'm so thrilled that once Pam found her voice she never let it get locked away again. Even though the anxiety was there she had found the courage to set it free and she never looked back. Then to find out that Jim might be the one starting as the new guy at the office? That's a much different kind of anxiety. A good giddy kind that we can feel starting to bubble up from her.
For Jim his initial anxiety is one of longing. A time and place that meant so much to him and is now calling back. Then he sees her painting and the longing goes into hope in an instant.
The image of them just rushing forward to reunite is absolutely lovely. At long last she can communicate with him with more than just looks and drawings. He finally gets to hear her and of course takes it in good humor.
This was a wonderful tale to go through. A different take on our familiar characters for sure but they also still felt the same. To wrap it up in a nice JAMMY way was the cherry on top. Great job.

So what I liked about this one is that Jim doesn't see Pam how the rest of her classmates see her. Especially Roy. While Roy may be willing to admit Jim is a fairly decent dude, here and in early canon, Jim also sees how Roy and by extension everyone else treats Pam and wants nothing to do with it.
Jim telling Pam he thinks it's cool she talks without words is probably going to do well for her. I imagine that for so long she's felt so isolated because she hasn't been talking. So here is someone telling her that not only is she really talking to him, but it's also fine she doesn't say anything back. I imagine that would take a lot of pressure off of her. No wonder she clocks in an authentic vibrant yellow sun coming out from the clouds.

Yay Jim's here. And as hoped for the connection between the two is instant. That it's pranks on Dwight that seem to form the basis for Pam to start to let go of her fear is a wonderful little treat.
However I really love seeing how Pam reacts here. Finally someone is treating her like an equal. Not a problem to fix or a target to make fun of. Just a regular person regardless of her silence. No wonder she's so taken with Jim. Can't wait to see how it all goes from here.

You know it seems no matter what AU you put him in, Roy just doesn't get Pam.
A bit more light starting to break through here. Really glad to see that Bill actually is invested in his daughter. He may make a few mistakes, but he is there for her. Probably just needs to pay a bit more attention.
It feels like Pam needs kindness more than anything else. A gentle soul who jut understands her. Looking forward to more for sure.

Love that Jim is keeping tabs on her. Then when she finally comes in and sits down she takes a chair a few away from him. So Jim has to look over to her. Nice parallel to how he was always glancing over to reception. Really nice that she found a bit of courage to move closer too.
Feels like for the first time she was really close to saying something in school. Felt like she wanted to say something and was almost there. Hopefully she can grow those feelings out.
Then Jim comes in with a perfect idea for her. And the inspiration is again the teapot. Let Pam share her words through art. Really love how Jim is getting through to her.

Really great to see that the iron chains holding back Pam's voice are weakening. She finally has an outlet and also a way to make herself understood. Then just like in canon, Jim and Pam make the perfect pranking pair. Kind of fun to see the whole Bears. Beets. Battlestar Gallactica (minus the Gallactica) used once more.
As far as how long this story should go, first and foremost, that's up to you since you're the one writing it. Personally I'm really looking forward to the moment where Jim finally hears Pam's voice for the first time so there's that. I'm sure you could bring in elements from Season 3 where canon Pam finds her courage and this silent Pam finds the courage to speak as well. My two cents at least.

Nice to see these changes starting to take root. Yes there's still a lot of doubt and fear, but it seems like for the first time courage is starting to grow as well. Really fun to see that Pam has found an outlet even if she hasn't found her voice yet outside of her family. Seems like a nice progression you've got going on. Pam usually blooms when she realized she has someone in her corner with her and I see that coming through here.

Dwight ranting while Jim eats Jello is always a ton of fun. Also that Jim stands up and gets more of the attention on himself to deflect any real or imagined anxiety from Pam is just a perfect low key support move. Lets Pam just enjoy being the back-up partner here.
Love that Penny is also looking out for her big sister. Now that there's something they can all kind of grab hold with Pam. Finally a way in and it feels like those who do love and support Pam want to encourage this as much as possible. Nice little metaphor with the swings there at the end too.

Pam seeking a quiet place of solitude rings true here. Cafeteria's are loud noisy places full of chatter. Something she's never been able to take part in so she seeks her own company. But now she's hoping for more.
Of course it's Roy and Katy that put some doubts in Jim's mind. Nothing can be 100% perfect so that's a nice bit of realism added in there. But more progress for Pam. Starting to rebel against her silence. Wanting to talk even if she feels like she still can't. So yeah a few steps forwards. But now she had a new outlet. One she can control and I love how she's jumping into this new form of expression. Look out world cause little Pam's going to get what she wants.

Kind of makes sense that Pam's anxiety about talking would also bleed into other areas as well. Always worrying about how other kids will look at her and thus make fun of her. Considering most of her interactions have been negative that makes sense.
Really like that Jim can correctly figure out what Pam's drawing means. Kid is sharp for a first grader! It also gives him a bit more confidence going forward it seems like.
So he's back sitting next to her and has mixed berry yogurt. Awwww, that's sweet and an adorable callback. Feels like Pam's heart is starting to race for a new reason as Jim makes his way over. Glad to see it. She deserves a pick me up from everything swirling around her.
