UGHHHHH. I'm definitely frustrated with these two right now. But I lovedddd this chapter. The couch scene was just perfection. I really thought they were going to get busy there until Karen called. But their conversation on the couch while half dressed, him telling her to tell him to come back or to move to New York. Ugh. Can't she see that he still loves her?! I hope the next update is soon because I need it.

This was SO GOOD. I had to listen to this song before reading, and it's so perfect. I love how the lyrics are merged into the story so flawlessly. "Tell me what you hate about me, whatever it is I'm sorry" That part HURTS. I need more angsty one shots like this asap as possible, please and thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you!! I’m glad you like the song because I love it and the things it makes me feel. Haha

Summary: He wondered where she was. Was she thinking of him too or was she cuddled up into Roy’s side making fun of him and his stupid big mouth that couldn’t keep shit in? He didn’t think she could be that cruel, but now he felt like he didn’t know her.

Beth this was so good!! I loved it so much. You could feel Jim's pain. How much he loved her and how much he hated that she couldn't be hers. It broke my heart that all he wanted to do was get away but everywhere he went, she was there too. and then to have her show up just for him? My heartttttt, Beth. AND THEN THE ENDING. How it was all just a nightmare? She actually broke it off with Roy and went with Jim on Casino Night? Amazing. 5 gold jellybeans.

I know you know this, but I am SO excited for this. Everything we've been talking about finally coming to life. This was a beautiful first chapter to start us off. From Michael's shenanigans, to Jim helping out Helene, to Pam and Besty being so close, so their little thanksgiving in the middle of the night. (I'm sure they're very grateful for each other after what they did (; ) The ending where Jim says that the wishbone could promise him nothing better than Pam crushed me in the absolute best way possible. Once again, a fantastic way to kick off this collab that I am so stoked for!!

ugh Em this was so good!! You captured Michael perfectly. I also loved the Jan moment in the liquor store! That was perfect! The party was amazing, and their little adventure in the bathroom was hot. I loved this chapter!

BETH! This was amazing. From their looks and teasing in the office which just made me smile like an idiot, to Michael's meltdown which had me cracking up. Then driving home and Pam's thoughts as she drove. Ugh. And then Jim joins her and they cuddle and share secrets and "stay warm" my heart can't handle it. This was a perfect addition to our little collab. Ugh, its so good.

Author's Response: Aw, thank you!!! Michael's meltdown was so funny to write and I could picture him losing his mind so easily! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

TPB. Wow. I needed a minute before I could review. This was top tier. Jim surprising her in the morning was adorable. I love how she jumped off of him for waffles. Amazing. And then the office antics were perfect. of course any would send a singing telegram, only to want to join in. And Kelly asking about Ryan even tho she's with Darryl is SO funny and SO perfect. And then Pam jumping Jim in the entryway UGH. But THEN. THEN. You have Jim lavish Pam in the bedroom and you have the line "But she knows that he gets like this sometimes. He wants to remind himself that he finally gets to be with her after all those long years apart, to show her the love she deserves and to show her just how damn lucky he is, and to allow them both to see just how perfect they are together." I'm never going to recover from this. and then Pam riding Jim? I think I died. "Come on, come for me, Jim." Dead. It was nice knowing you. And then their second time being slower and more gentle, because OF COURSE it is. They need to just love each other now that they've had their fun. I love that Jim had a batman wallet in middle school. Obviously he did. What else did I expect? And then Jim giving Pam ski resort tickets is so good. I love how excited she is, even tho she knows she's probably going to be on the bunny slopes all day. You can tell she's excited just because she gets to spend two days with Jim. "Oh, well, in that case" killed me. Idk how since I'm already dead, but it killed me all the same.

this was beyond amazing. I have no words besides all the ones I just typed. I can't think straight right now.

PS. Because although they really feel quite secure at this point, there’s still that lingering sense that it’s all too good to be true. That one day they might wake up and realize that it had all been a dream, or worse, that it hadn’t, and it was over anyway.

kill me.

Where on Earth do I even begin?? Lets start with the chapter notes. If you and your hubby ever take the kids out skiing, TPB will have to photoshop her face onto his so we can get this masterpiece of a chapters note. Now, for the actual story. I can't even begin to form coherent thoughts. Pam realizing that if the front desk lady was smiling and blushing with Roy she would have been concerned, but knew she had to reason to be with Jim? Perfection. And then how he joked about giving her the casino night speech for the upgrade, I died laughing. I'm so glad that they are at a point where they can joke about that, because I believe they totally could. And then Pam having to get some forgiving done before the slopes, yes please.

For the actual skiing, I couldn't have asked for anything more. How Jim was so ready to spend all day on the bunny slopes if that's what Pam wanted, but was also encouraging her to try something harder if she felt comfortable with it. Ugh. And then her crashing into him was amazing. Pam being confused about why he was yelling about pizza is hilarious! And of course they would start laughing about it right afterwards. The gatorade was also amazing. I love the Artie reference. "I'm not Creed" I died.

And then Pam being concerned about Jim while he's limping but he's just making jokes while assuring her that he's fine is SO on point. Great job.

And last but CERTAINLY not least, the fireplace scene. I'm going to need to read this on a weekly basis just to make sure I'm set for the rest of the week. It was soo cozy and warm feeling, and just so sweet. I also loved all the snow imagery and metaphors. It really tied it all together.

Great job, WW. I'll be framing this.

TPB, this was SO good. Michael being upset that it's not his actual birthday is perfect. "It's not the same." And then Michael doing math to figure out that his birthday should have been on Friday cracked me up. I loveeee that you brought them to Laverne's and that they know Pam so well there. And then them at Rite Aid. Ughhh. I love that you had them remember different things about Michael's last birthday.
And then the actual party was great. Michael's "birthday suit" is amazing. Jim and Pam's look to each other was so spot on too. And then DJ Vu made me laugh, especially after Andy tried to explain his reasoning behind it. And it wouldn't be a true day at the office without a prank on Dwight. Filling the plate with whipped cream was perfect.

Okay but my FAVORITE part was the end. Just Jim and Pam, going out to meet up with friends and just having a regular conversation. It's the little things. And then their planned repeats of Valentines Day. Ugh. Amazing. Ten out of five stars.

Okay drunk Jam is amazing. I loved how crazy Pam went, truly reliving her college days. I loved how encouraging Jim was of it too. I was cracking up at Pam this whole chapter, she was a delight to read. And then once they got home? Hot. Geez. As simple as it was, the very ending with "I'm not Irish" and "I know" is probably my favorite part. I'm a sucker for the little moments. Great job, Bathany, this was a joy to read.

Author's Response: Thanks, At! Of course Jim would encourage her to do this hah. He knew the mess he was getting himself into with her drinking that much!

What an excellent end to a wonderful collab. But I'll get to that later. This chapter was amazing. As a fellow Disney Channel stan, I loved the title reference and then the nod to HSM3. One of my favorites. And then how they couldn't get their hands off of each other even just while in the car? Hot. The bedroom scene was just perfection. You did a great job with this chapter, I loved it so much.

Thank you for being awesome, and since I know everyone gets the notifications for this fic, thank you WW, TPB, and Beth as well. You guys mean the world to me, even if we now have to never talk again. It was a good run, see ya on the flippity flip.

ugh. Jim and Pam being this close but still avoiding their feelings for each other hurts so good. 'There’s a memory that Jim tries hard not to linger on, of her outside her dorm room, twisting her hands and smiling up at him.“Five minutes is enough time to figure out you like someone.”' This part killed me. I can't wait to see what happens, how they finally manage to get together. This story is so good, so well written, I get so excited when it's updated!!

Seriously though, this has quickly become one of my all time favorite stories. If they don't get their acts together before Jim leaves, I'm going to be so upset. But I can't wait to see what happens. I sincerely hope he doesnt leave.

Author's Response:

Thank you!! That’s so amazing to hear :) (and apologies for the end of the chapter, lol).

I can’t make any promises on how quickly they’ll get their acts together...but hopefully it will be enjoyable/not too painful along the way?

Thanks so much for reviewing!

I had to come back after a bit so I could actually form words. I was waitingggg for a chapter like this, because i thought *something* had to have happened. Theres no chance *nothing* ever did with how they are in the current timeline. I honestly didn't expect this, but man did I love it so much. You wrote it so perfectly, giving us the contrast between Danny and Jim and how Pam felt with each of them. But now I need to know what happened after, why Jim got back with Karen, why Pam and Jim aren't freaking married already. This story is slowly killing me but I will die a happy woman because of it.

Author's Response: Haha - thank you so much!! I'm glad it didn't seem to come totally out of nowhere, lol. I promise there will be answers to your questions coming. (Although the why Jim and Pam aren't freaking married already was my question after like two episodes of The Office).

For a second after reading the beginning, I thought Jim had already moved to Stamford and I was not ready for that. I'm so glad he hasn't yet. I'm so glad Pam didn't sleep with Ryan. I freaking hate that guy. I hope he leaves and that Pam breaks it off, not trying to do long distance.

also, Pam's "I'm not upset about Ryan." just about killed me. Just open your eyes, you two!!

Author's Response:

Ahaha no, I'm not quite that mean (/Jim is not quite that organised...)

And I can reassure you, Ryan is not going to be any more willing or able to do long distance in this fic than he was in the show :D

Wow, okay, I did not expect that. I feel so bad for Pam. First losing her mom and then thinking that Jim thinks that last night was a mistake. Ugh. I hate that Karen talked him out of going to Scranton right away but I'm SO glad that he was there for the funeral. Her finally letting go and crying into his chest, him holding her so no one else could see, ughhhh. Amazing. They're idiots for even pretending that last night was a mistake, but I'll forgive them because I love them.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much!

And I know (sorry Pam). So I had mixed feelings on Jim going to Scranton right away...I wasn't sure that having him turn up right at that moment, in a state himself and when Pam was still reeling and feeling guilty, would have been the best thing - or that considerate to her family while they were also in shock/grieving. However much he wanted to. So I wrote it more with the idea that it was reasonable advice from Karen. But: I can also see why you'd want him there!

And haha, I'm glad you forgive them! They are slight idiots. It's true.

Thank you for reviewing :)

Ughhhh. Pam willing to put up with Henri's wrath in order to help Jim is just... ugh. Is that the reason she got fired though?? I feel SO bad for her. Henri sucks, man. I really wonder what this means for her though. Is Jim going to stay because Pam can't afford the apartment? I hope so. Also, Jim's little realization when it comes to wanting to stay in Scranton but not because of Scranton is just amazing. I wish we would have seen what would have happened if Pam didn't get fired but that was also a great cliffhanger. So many questions, but I'm enjoying every minute of this. Ive said it a million times and I'll say it a million more, I loveeee this story.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it :D  And haha, Henri does suck - the being late was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back, but Henri sucking, being upset about Kelly, and generally not getting on with Pam was all already there.

I will say that I think there's still a chance Jim might have chickened out even if Pam hadn't got fired...

I'm also sad that the college flashbacks are over! I loveddd them! But I'm also excited for more present time chapters!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! And haha, I know. I really did love writing the college flashbacks, so am very glad to hear that :) But hopefully there'll be enough drama in the present to be getting on with...

I just realized I never reviewed this chapter. Which is a crime, really, for how much the ending broke me. I'm so happy that Pam got the job, and the reasoning on why she's receptionist instead of office administrator is perfect, even if I also wish she had gotten the administrator job. But then her and Jim's celebratory dinner and their hands brushing. And then saying "let's go home" and they both realize they won't be able to say that soon. Ugh. I'm gonna need this story to go on for forever but also like please make them kiss soon.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reviewing! and lol, sorry about the ending... but there will be kissing. At some point :D

Im sorry.... THEY ACTUALLY MOVED?? What is happening. Their scene in the kitchen broke me. Him hugging her while she cries is just heartbreaking. And then him being so insistent on keeping the bowl only for it to break during the move. Ughhhhh. Im dead inside. But its okay because this story is so worth it.

Author's Response: Haha, I’m sorry - they did! I promise it’s all part of their journey...but I’m really glad to head that, thanks so much :)

I needed a good Jim and Pam prank, and this filled that void perfectly. Then the sprinkles of them missing each other and how different it is now that theyre not living together were perfect. I love how protective they are of each other, especially Pam over Jim. Risking her new job to make sure Jim doesn't get yelled at again, ugh, it warms my heart.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much :) I do love a good Jim and Pam prank. And I felt like they needed one, after all the misery I'm heaping on them...

So... I don't hate you. But I kind of do. Ughhhhhh. I was SO excited when they were dancing and when his hand was on her back and then freaking KAREN shows up and I got SO MAD. AND THEN KARENS COMMENTS ABOUT ISABEL AND JIM AND I WANTED TO PUNCH HER. Pam standing up for Is was the best thing to happen though. And thennnnn I thought Jim and Karen were going to break up. I was SO excited, this was it. It was the moment we've been waiting for. And... then it's not. But that's not even the best part. Because Pam FINALLY admits that she loves Jim, and Is is telling her to go after him, and maybe she will, but now Jim is saying he's going to actually try with Karen and I swear to everything that is holy if Pam admits her feelings to Jim and if he even for a *fraction* of a second pretends he doesn't feel the same, I'm throwing my computer out the window. (but then ill go pick it up because I need this story to just be constantly updated, I love it so much, please don't forget that)

Author's Response:

Hahaha - thank you (and sorry, I can only apologise for the Karen).   Jim is sort of getting there by finally saying out loud to Karen that there's a problem...two steps forward, one step back? Please don't throw you computer out the window haha. One thing I will say is that Jim and Pam are different people, so I don't think Pam would necessarily do the same things/react in exactly the same way to everything as Jim - and vice versa. (I think that's suitably vague...)

Thanks so much for reviewing, I really appreciate it!

Okay, alright. Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cooooool. I'm not dying or anything over here, it's fine. Really.

Okay but seriously, there was so much this chapter. Jim and Pam standing up for each other both in the office and at the party was just immaculate. I *hated* that Ryan was there. Absolutely despised that. I loved Michael though hahahahah, he was my favorite. And their little spats with each other was just great, seriously.

BUT THEN. You're having them go up to the roof with a bottle of champagne and I am not ready at all but also SO ready because I need this in my life. I love this story.

Author's Response:

Haha - thank you!! I had a lot of fun with Michael (and actually with Ryan) in this chapter lol. Big ensemble spats where everyone's going after each other for different reasons are my favourite.

And yes, we will be up on the roof with the champagne for the next chapter...

the freaking dark staircase and he KISSED HER. I'm not even angry about the cliffhanger because HE FINALLY KISSED HER. But also i need the next chapter like yesterday please.

Author's Response:

Haha thank you! I'm very glad to hear that :) And yeah, I figured they'd probably had enough missed opportunities/moments of not going after each other after 21 chapters...

Thanks so much for reviewing! Next chapter is coming haha.
