What started as a single little one-shot of what may have happened after Stress Relief. (Jim was panicked, Pam was scared. They needed a place to feel safe.) This has now become a little series of vignettes I can't let go of.

‘Fair enough, she’d have prayed for her to fail miserably at being able to sexually satisfy the beet farmer in question, and lose all her teeth. Dwight liked a good set of teeth.’ - this had me in absolute hysterics.
I’m adding this to my own personal head canon of why Jim always eats baby carrots. It’s all down to Angela.

1 Ugh this was the absolute worst, how could you do this to us?? I was literally shouting at my phone. Having said that, you wrote this brilliantly and even though it hurt my heart and all the signs to make it a fix it fic were literally shouting there, I still loved it. All I have to say is the ending better make up for this.
1 Ok this was super cute and the tumble dryer made me snort-laugh. This was great, the whole thing. The baby carrots were my personal highlight and is completely canon now.

Wow, a huge chapter here, and so well written. The dialogue reads really well, and the whole idea of Pam wanting Jim to see her before anything happens makes a lot of sense
You really tackled such a hard subject and brought such a Jam dynamic to it. The dialogue felt very them.
Also, I loved the little bit about the museum at the end there, very sweet. And Gerald and his long hair was a great touch!!

I was nervous about this chapter, tried to see if it was happening too soon or if it was following the natural path of where Pam & Jim would have ended up, had Roy not showed up the day before. There is so much for them both to unpack, but Pam is back in her own thoughtful/playful self that had long ago planned to get away.

It was a lengthy one, just couldn't see how to break it up better. Roy is awful, never ever getting better.
Jim is certainly the caretaker and that role is absolutely going to bloom, but just as we saw in canon it will allow Pam to grow in confidence and be part of her healing path too.

Author's Response: Absolutely. Had to get beyond the panic and initial responses, plus had to bring in some of the ‘time’ that happened in the show to get rid of that canon but also stay true to the spirit of the characters.
I love a Halpert sibling. Glad she gave it to Jim straight!

I have a lot of good thoughts and general outline for what comes next, but want to give my brain a breather after my 6 chapter tornado that happened this week :)
I thought Angela's backstory was really great, and really helps to explain her concern for Pam. Loved that she wouldn't let Dwight call her 'Monkey', that was a nice touch.
Feels like Pam's in a really safe place now, glad Jim is there to look after her. And she got a goodnight kiss!

I am glad the ending didn’t seem too out of place. I wanted to show she was actively working on connecting to Jim and his care of her, that he isn’t Roy. But I also didn’t want it to go ‘too far’ because she is still headspun.

Author's Response: I keep going back and forth if there will be a Gerald/Bill finding that out scene. Might happen in later chapters, if one of the kids happens to mention it. But some very big other events are going to happen first… and it will all be worth it :)

Author's Response: Oh, I am so glad it came off well. I am in love with this story and the process of writing it. I shared my love of cemeteries with Pam’s character. They are peaceful and special… when I scrolled Dunmore’s website and saw the three mausoleums, I just knew it was a place for them.Jim is definitely on his own path, figuring out now he can support her without FIXING her. When we read this in its totality, there is a very stark difference between Friday/Saturday and post-Sunday for both of them. Next chapter….. Court & Roy…..
So glad these two have been able to slip into what feels like a very established relationship, even if they're not quite all the way there, in that sense, yet.
Very relieved Roy won't be getting out for now. And also seems like Pam will be making some progress moving forward with a therapist. Am intrigued to see who she'll pick.

Thank you! I always liked how we went from the season 3 ender to season 4 when they were really a cute old married couple. So I tried to imbue that same feeling here. The angst of season 1-3 was just *poof* gone!
